This month I:
Really started to dabble in the NCIS fandom
Finally came to an unsatisfying end to my "Old Man" universe.  I still wish I'd stopped it after the first story.
But still haven't made a decision about the ending to my [community profile] tardis_bigbang, I suppose I'll have to do that soon.
And wrote my 150th story! (Ménage à Trois)

No feel free to butt in - I wouldn't want you to think we were over here talking about you behind your back or anything...

Heeeh, no worries *beams*

Your icon is adorable! And what did I hear about you liking Jack/MW characters? *bounces*

I'd already started poking her for Jack/Logan Cale and then she caught me watching NCIS one night so I was pestering her again for it again - which kind of backfired on me at the time. But I think I won out in the end *g* because I love her internal Gibbs *so* much. And speaking of which was that your fantastic Gibbs icon I spotted on my down the page? Really blue eyes and not quite all his face? because that just- WOW

Yeah, that icon is one of mine *grins* I don't think I ever actually posted them, I made them after squeeing over that picture with [livejournal.com profile] luthien82. You can find all of them here (http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee187/chibisicons/ncis/cinq/), though and if you want, you can snag them, too :D Just credit [livejournal.com profile] shorikurai if you do? :D

Yay, so you're another NCIS fan, yes?

I don't have an internal Gibbs. I just have Tony inside of my head and he's definitely taken over my brain. Good thing I have [livejournal.com profile] luthien82, 'cause she's the Gibbs to my Tony *beams*

Also? I started writing Jack/Tony last night *grins*

love the show with a passion but not involved in reading or writing it - because it's probably the one fandom I *really* want to read gen more than anything else and I tend to migrate to other fandoms when I know where I can find good stuff already. If that make sany sense at all?

And now I have to scoot as I am not on my own computer :)

That makes perfect sense, yeah, though I can't really relate :D Personally, I think even the gen reads like slash when it comes to Gibbs and DiNozzo, but that's probably just me *facepalm* And, as I said, Tony's completely taken over my brain. And he's damn demanding.

... I could rec you three fantastic gen stories, though. Tony-centric. If you're interested and [livejournal.com profile] donutsweeper hasn't already beaten me to it :D

I think I like you a lot if you can read subtext into fic :D

[livejournal.com profile] donutseeper may have beaten you to it but there again her recs might not be the same as your so hit me anyway. I'm going to need stuff to reward myself with if I'm going to get any [livejournal.com profile] mmom stuff written EEP!

Re: babbles back

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 10:08 am (UTC)(link)
... It's just that even in canon, Tony focuses very much on Gibbs and that bleeds into the fiction and unless it's clearly states within the fic that they have some sort of father/son relationship, I find it rather hard to put my slash goggles down *nods*

And because I'm lazy like that: NCIS Fic Recs (http://community.livejournal.com/shorikurai/17837.html). Just ignore the Slash section in the bottom, if you want *nods*

Coo, ta
*shiny linkity*
It won't be today (really trying to get a handle on writing something) but I'll definitely toddle over there at some point :D

there is a lot of good gen out there, I can certain point you to a few authors on ff.net to start you out with

Go on then - as long as there's no *clears throat* "tree fic" *runs away laughing*

[livejournal.com profile] chatona's already suggested sequitur_fic's stuff (Rictus is perhaps the most well known pre-series 'How Tony met Gibbs' story out there).

Other good gen stuff: Richefic (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/374030/Richefic)'s a prolific and good gen author, although most of the stories are longish. If you like h/c "Just a Cough (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3359964/1/Just_a_cough)" is good.
Florence1 (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/293715/Florence1) is also a great gen author and her stuff is shorter. Two great (and shortish) episode tags she wrote are "Boxed In (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2819266/1/Boxed_In)" (tag for that episode) and "seaspray (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2520564/1/Seaspray)" (Tag for Twilight) If you like Tony and Tim's interaction I also recommend "Breakdown (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3403082/1/Breakdown)"
Tony and Tim friend-wise there's also the great (and short) "SWAK" episode tag "Visiting Hours (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3591767/1/Visiting_Hours)" by celestial1
let me know what sort of story you're interested in (long vs short) casefile style or episode tag etc) and I'll recommend others

Thank you *mwah* I don't know when I'll get a chance to read - I have so many plot bunnies I'm sitting on after you guys prompted me last night. Also I'm doing this beta for [livejournal.com profile] kel_reiley...

Actually I think these recs from you two are going to be my security blanket over the few days. I think, at some point, I'm going to need a break from the fandom that Who/TW

OH and short is always better for me than long as a rule :D

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
yes ma'am! NCIS tends to lead to longer stories (the whole casefile aspect of the show) but there are plenty of short ones too
