Tony examined the coffee shop’s menu.  He knew what to get for his partner and himself, and figured it wouldn’t hurt to butter up the captain by ordering his usual, a cappuccino with a half pump of sugar-free vanilla, but he wasn’t sure what to order for the NCIS agent they’d been working with.   He’d asked, but the reply had been a brusque, “Surprise me.”  Americano?  Macchiato?  Latte?  

Ten minutes later he returned to the station house, handing Gibbs a cup. 

“Well?”

“I figured you’d want the largest, strongest black coffee they sold.”  Tony smiled.

Gibbs drank deeply.  “You’re hired.”

You know, I'm slowly coming over to the Tony/Gibbs camp. I've been rewatching all previous seasons of NCIS, and it's really hard not to be won over.

I vacillate back and forth between slash and mentor/father&son relationship. There's 17 years between the actors and there is that Boss/subordinate dynamic which can make romance weird, but then there are those scenes where even I can see the slash....
