NCIS season finale
I could say I cared, but I'd be lying.
So... Jenny's dead. Vance is the new director. Franks stole random dead agent's "insurance policy." Ziva's fired (well the liaison position is terminate) McGee's reassigned to cyber-crimes, Tony's sent to the USS Ronald Reagan and Gibbs gets a new team. Oooh. Don't care. Sigh

I admit, I am curious to find out how they're going to get the team back together, but after such a slow episode, I do find it hard to care.
At least it didn't depress the hell out of me like yesterdays episodes of Bones and House. They annoyed me too. Didn't like them at all.

Oddly, I'd have liked this episode a lot more if there wasn't that final scene in Vance's office. So he's mysterious and shreds something in his own file. oooh. Then scatters the team to the wind. Big whoop. I doubt anyone out there in fandomland believes the team will NOT be back together after a few episodes.

... At least this means I can continue watching the show.

The first hour of the show was fine, if a bit boring and predictable. But the second hour was just lame, boring and annoying (I don't care about Franks or Vance) but i guess Tim, Tony and Ziva showed Vance (the new director) that they answered to Gibbs, not him.
the last scene was just annoying- because we all know the team will be back together within a few weeks... November sweeps on the outside, so what is the point of the random, fake tension of splitting them up?

So it's all good in my world. Yay!

It's just that it's a lame, tired plot device- sending them all away. It's suppose to create tension and the "ooh- who will Gibbs' new team be and what will happen to the others?" and I just can't care. If they'd only sent away one person I'd wonder if they'd be returning, but all three?
I'm just disappointed. I wanted to be on the edge of my seat awaiting next season and I'm not.

Basically, I'm just let down by the whole thing, does that make sense?

For me NCIS has never been that big of an emotional investment anyway, so I'm happy to just sort of nod my head along with the music, so to speak.

I want NCIS to be a big emotional investment, it just always falls short
