Oh, and I got tired of my default userpic so set it for random.  I apologize in advance if LJ picks a completely inappropriate icon for the post I'm making.

This is fantastic, by the way. It's like icon roulette.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
you never know what you're gonna get. And I have 100 icons uploaded!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I have space for 107 somehow. AS a b-day present for myself I bought a year of LJ and extra icons- it wasn't too expensive I was happy

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I have 46 icons, and I get one new one every time I renew my paid account. I don't think I could ever survive with any less.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I have no idea how the system works, but I like it when they randomly add icon space!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
It's like your birthday arriving early when you realize you have more space.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Then, of course, there's the frantic search for that perfect icon to fill the space, which, for me, often leads to a complete restructuring of my icons.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, somehow even with 100 or something I still have a whole folder of icons i'm not currently using. I had to stop looking at new icons or it would drive me nuts because I wouldnt have room for it

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I have a whole photobucket account of icons. It's ridiculous.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
ooh, that's clever.

my goal is to have only icons made for me or inspired by something I wrote or something. I'm more than halfway there.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I have 101 icons up. only 34 are from other people without at least something added or changed by me. The rest are all made by me or for me or whatever.

makes me so happy

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Awesome.

I'm definitely leaning more toward self-made icons, lately, but not nearly to that extent.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
*choosing icon wisely*

Tis a good idea, especially since you're so good at it!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Why thank you. I only traumatize a handful of people when I make icons. The rest usually seem pretty delighted.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
*nods* as it should be. And those who are traumatized deserve it I'm sure

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-02 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Like roommates who have no love for the Barrowman bum.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-03 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
I still find that hard to believe

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-03 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
I threaten her with that picture everytime she does something evil to my door. I feel I should really build up to that one, though. Add a little vasiline-on-the-door-handle into the mix, first.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-03 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
Moohahaha.

[identity profile] aeron-lanart.livejournal.com 2008-06-03 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Just 1 folder? *checks harddrive* I have 489 files in 19 folders, organised by creator (in a base folder called 'icons'). I am such a hoarder. Obviously 107 icons is not enough for me...

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-03 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
that is *so* much more organized than I will ever be.

[identity profile] aeron-lanart.livejournal.com 2008-06-03 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't find anything otherwise. Its the same with all my Sims 2 downloads - I have 24,000 files in my downloads folder so if I didn't have subfolders organised by type, creator etc I'd never be able to find bad or duplicate files.

It's amazing that my game actually runs Ok with that much stuff in it!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-03 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
when I try to organize, I loose stuff. I'm hopeless. I'll remember where it HAD BEEN and that I'd decided to move it, but no clue where the perfect place I'd found to store it wound up being
