When spell checkers are *not* your friend

Dear Mr. Spellchecker,

Gibbs talking about being threatened by an ex-wife with cast iron is a smidge different than being threatened with castration.  The latter probably would have made him a bit more upset.  Quit trying to change it in my story.

especially for a family of 4. geez

I tend to hit matinees, anymore, because they're about three dollars cheaper.

When we go to the theater (which is almost never) we do matinees or the second run theaters- usually the movies there are almost about to come out on DVD, but at $2 a person, it's worth waiting

Dang. I wish we had theaters like that here.

there's only one or two, and they are in the boonies, but well worth the trip when it's $8 for the family vs $8 per person!

although not that I subscribe to netflix we almost never bother with the movie theater.

What I love is all the random and rare tv shows it has.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-04 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, definitely. I go through seasons so quick when I rent them from there.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-04 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
and it's better than getting the episodes "elsewhere" because there's the commentaries and deleted scenes and things

although you have to be careful. There were a few shows that I remembered fondly from when I was a kid and rewatched and was O.0 WHAT was I thinking? they sucked

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-04 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely. That's probably the main reason I still by TV on DVD.

I tend to think it best not to revisit my childhood in TV form, as that does tend to happen. Case in point: MacGuyver. It definitely looked better as a kid. Although, I must say, going back and watching Quantum Leap, I wondered exactly why I didn't like the show more.

fond memories are best left shiny and brightened by the rose colored glasses of youth, right? I LOVED MacGyver. I bet I would think it silly if I watched it now

Although some shows hold up amazingly well. Which gives me hope for when I eventually want to revisit shows from this era

I must admit, I really think Torchwood is going to look rather silly upon revisitation, but I still do have hope for some shows.

if we could get some Jack dispantsia I wouldn't care how silly the show wound up looking

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-04 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
although I'll take naked hide and seek if I can't have dispantsia

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-04 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
someone *has* to write a fic listing the ways to cheat in naked hide and seek

.....damn you, plot bunnies!
