Summary: A letter from Jack makes its way to the Doctor after Jack has died.
Author's Note: Written for the  Dead Letter Challenge.  The basic idea is to take a character, kill them, and have them write a letter back to someone after they're dead.  Un-betaed

Doctor-

Well, this is it.  I know you thought you already knew when we’d last see each other, but when’s the last time things went according to plan like that?  Besides, a head in a jar?  Me?  Really?  I still can’t believe you bought that one.

Anyway, I just wanted to say... well, thanks, I guess.  I might not have really known what I was getting myself in for when I threw my lot in with you and Rose and the TARDIS all those years ago, but I have to say my life since then has certainly been anything but dull.  And I wound up with a lot of more time than I’d ever have expected to do everything I hoped to do- especially dance.  I do wish I’d managed to dance a bit more with you throughout the years, but we did have fun, didn’t we?

Remember those times, if you can.  And for heaven’s sakes, smile a bit more.  Or better yet, find someone that’ll make you smile.   I know you're shaking your head right now, reading that, probably muttering “stop it” under your breath, but you know I’m right; the universe is a better place when it’s shared with someone you love, so get out there and have a go at it.

Or, at least, have a go at something.  If you were anyone else I’d recommend the brothels of Struvia Prime for that sort of thing, but for you?  You’ve got all of time and space at your finger tips.  Go find someone to dance with, and say hello to them for me.
