Indignities Suffered

Title: Indignities Suffered
Pairing/Warning/Rating: Dresden Files (TV verse)/Due South crossover, rated G
Word Count: 150
Summary:  Bob suffers a terrible indignity.
Author's Note:  Written for [profile] aeron_lanart's prompt from my recent writing meme.

“Stop that.”  Bob folded his arms and affixed the perpetrator with his fiercest glare, but it was to no avail.  “I said,” he repeated more forcefully, “Stop that.

Harry didn’t look up from the sigil he was drawing. “The wolf’s deaf, Bob.  Remember?”

“Yes, I am aware of that Harry, but must it be doing that?”  His voice practically dripped with disdain.

Harry shrugged.  “It’s instinctive, he probably can’t help it.”

“You could...” Bob gestured with his hands.

“Sorry, kind of busy here.”

Bob pursed his lips and hurmphed, “filthy creature, just you wait.”

Diefenbaker paid the ghost no notice, being far too intent on the skull he held between his paws.  Then, after a final sniff, he gave it a long lick.

“Harry!  It’s.. oh this is just too much.  Harry, do you see what that wolf is doing?  I insist you... Harry?  Harry, are you listening to me?”

*falls over laughing* Yep, that's Dief. I don't see enough Due South xovers anymore--thanks!

Glad you liked it! I always suspected that Dief wasn't really as deaf as he pretended, he was just sneaky and liked to be able to ignore people if he wanted

Yep. Now I'm picturing Benny using his mad weirdskills to track what he doesn't realize is a Weevil..... Or the Winchester boys meeting Robert Fraser.... Or (someone save us now) Dief being a material witness/evidence in an NCIS case.

I vaguely remember seeing several good Due South/Doctor Who or Torchwood crossovers in recent years. But in general, they would fit nicely in a lot of fandoms as well

Yep. My coauthor and I did a Pretender/DS. I'm getting her into DW with me, and we're already playing with sticking the Doctor into some of our other stuff, including (probably never posted, but it's fun to toy with) her Supernatural series. I'm also playing with a DW/Tin Man and a DW/TW, but first I've got to get through my LOTR/NCIS.

Are you ready to have me committed yet? ;)

DW and TW, with their ability to move about in time and space, can easily go ANYWHERE. Lotr and NCIS however, I do have a bit of a harder time seeing

So did I. I was asked (read: commanded) to write one for a friend, and since she's been going through a really hard time lately with a botched post-surgical, I'm trying to get it done for her. Why she picked those two, I'm not sure, although it may be her way of getting back at me for challenging her (very successfully) to cross NCIS, Criminal Minds, and CSI:NY. I really hadn't written more than a few fics for either fandom, so most of the LOTR fans are probably going to lynch me. Or die laughing. Or some combination thereof.

Ah, the request fulfillment. I have fallen victim to that myself many, many times

I'll issue challenges, and I have no problem at all with others requesting fics, but I think I would feel guilty if I requested, like I don't have the right to ask someone to take the time or to write something she wouldn't have written for her own enjoyment.

It depends, often people will put memes up asking for suggestions

I haven't been active with lj long enough to know about the meme thing yet. I'm a challenge maven, partially because I have way too many ideas and partially because I love encouraging others to write and to find enjoyment in it. I also post prompts and some of the bunnies for stories that I won't ever find the time to write. I know that most of them will never be taken, but it's always really nice when someone does choose one and go for it.
