Earth, Again

Title: Earth, Again
Pairing/Warning/Rating: Doctor Who fandom, no spoilers, rated G
Word Count: 100
Summary: Turlough is less then thrilled about the TARDIS' latest stop.
Author's Note: Written for the [community profile] dw100 challenge of the week

Turlough looked horrified.  “Earth?  Again?”

“Really Turlough,” the Doctor paused in the doorway, “what do you have against Earth?”

“Something always goes wrong whenever we’re here.  What is it this time, Doctor?  Robots running amok? Aliens interfering with the time stream?”

“No, nothing like that. At least, as far as I know that is.”

“Then why are we here?”

“Supplies.  We need supplies.”

“I thought the TARDIS was stocked with everything imaginable?”

We’reoutofbananas,” the Doctor mumbled.

“So, this trip isn’t about Raiders, Eternals, Daleks... but bananas?”

“I like bananas.”

“Bananas.”

“Bananas,” the Doctor confirmed, exiting the TARDIS.  “Come along, Turlough.”

glad you liked! :)

wonderful! Earth is the only planet that grows bananas? Jack should give the Dr a banana tree! It would make a great present!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-21 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
honestly, it's not- unless the banana groves the Doctor replace the weapons factories of Villengard with are on Earth as well, but oh well. I just like the idea of the Doctor going to Earth for something as mundane as a grocery run

[identity profile] kensieg.livejournal.com 2008-07-21 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you think that Jack giving the Doctor a banana tree would make a good ficlet?

[identity profile] kensieg.livejournal.com 2008-07-21 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
In my mind I could see Jack giving to the Doctor as a Christmas present. Does anyone know anything about Time Lord religion?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-21 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I have absolutely no idea about that. I bet someone over at [livejournal.com profile] dwcanon_fodder would know

possets a suggestion

Heee! the Doctor and his bananas...
Maybe it's *exactly* because the Doctor's many companions got fed up with him having to go to restock back on Earth that Nine got the idea of converting Villengard in the first place??

Run along Turlough there's a good chap :D

Seeing that icon makes my day. I think it#s his little trunk. *Bounces too!*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-21 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
It is hard not to smile when confronted by it, isn't it? Whoever made it is brilliant

[identity profile] smithy161.livejournal.com 2008-07-21 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Tis pure glee. As is Five/Turlough. I kind of want to write some now.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-21 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay for Turlough! He's so fun and snarky!

[identity profile] undersea.livejournal.com 2008-07-22 06:03 am (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-22 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-22 09:24 am (UTC)(link)
Hee. He does like his bananas.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-22 12:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe bananas to the Doctor is like alien donuts to the rest of us?

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-22 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
You don't want to know what I'm thinking right now.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-22 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Or, as Jack would say, I can't even tell you what I'm thinking right now.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-22 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
*snicker* I think I have a good idea!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-23 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
*pouts* everything is always my fault. No fair

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-23 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Except when Barrowman is involved. Then I think we're equally at fault.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-23 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course, then we can just blame him...

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-23 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I like that idea. He is very blameworthy in that regard

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-23 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
When I'm not blaming alien donuts or the front desk evening shift, I can blame him.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-23 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
*nods* sounds about right

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-23 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Why does everything give me an idea for a shirt...

Hee, hee, hee!

[identity profile] time-lady-m.livejournal.com 2008-12-17 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
That's funny:)
