friends 'r' us meme

stolen from a bunch of people....

COMMENT HERE AND I WILL:
a) Tell you why I friended you.
b) Associate you with something -- a fandom, song, color, photo, etc.
c) Tell you something I like about you.
d) Tell you a memory I have of you.
e) Ask you something I've wanted to know about you
f) Tell you my favorite userpic from your list
g) In return, you need to post this on your own

As a side note, I should probably admit right off that my answer to 'why I friended you' will be the same to everyone- I never friend anyone until they've friended me.   I'm far too shy (yes, really) to randomly friend people.

a) you friended me so I friended you back
b) Jack's *true* TW backstory
c) You're such a friendly and helpful person- and a great beta
d) How you jumped in when I asked if anyone could beta my "little" SGA/TW story. (It was only 3k at the time, the additional 9K were mostly due to your influence)
e) Did you do a lot of writing before getting involved in fanfic?
f) I'm torn between the *iz ded* kitty because he's so dang cute, and the singing in the rain ones because it's so cheery and you use them so often

I'm an only child, so I'd always put myself in my favourite stories, which explains my Mary-Sue X-men fic that lurks in my fanfiction.net account. I wrote a little bit there, then joined a writing site before I found LJ. But I had a really bad experience with a mod there - nothing personally horrible, but just...not helpful on the writing-front, and kind of felt like someone had knocked the stuffing out of me. Fandom's a whole lot more supportive, as well as fun! I keep dabbling with the idea of going back to original writing, but I really did take a confidence knock and keep chickening out.

Woah. That's...probably more answer than you needed, sorry! *sheepish*

*chooses happy icon to make up for it*

fandom IS wonderfully supportive, isn't it? Sorry you had bad mod experience, but I'm glad you wound up at LJ as a result!

Oh yeah. For sure.

It's a shame, because I recommend writersdock without hesitation, but for me? I think I'd find it hard to go back now...

Because I have never done anything (beside poetry) that *isn't* fandom I've not had much to do with original writing comms/forums. But the times I have dropped into any out of curiosity they always seem to be having a ongoing debate about how fanfic is this hideous disgusting... *thing* not worth the time of day. :(

A really good site, but definitely personality clash with one of the many mods - nothing public or big, just a personal thing that made me feel it was best to just wander away quietly. I didn't go by jadesfire there, though, and I haven't been active in a couple of years, so I don't suggest trying to find me ;)
