friends 'r' us meme

stolen from a bunch of people....

COMMENT HERE AND I WILL:
a) Tell you why I friended you.
b) Associate you with something -- a fandom, song, color, photo, etc.
c) Tell you something I like about you.
d) Tell you a memory I have of you.
e) Ask you something I've wanted to know about you
f) Tell you my favorite userpic from your list
g) In return, you need to post this on your own

As a side note, I should probably admit right off that my answer to 'why I friended you' will be the same to everyone- I never friend anyone until they've friended me.   I'm far too shy (yes, really) to randomly friend people.

I didn't even have to threaten your donuts *boggles*

Oh no fair! I didn't know you were that kind of mom!!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-17 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I never follow through on my threats. Usually, with my munchkins, the "remember that I'm in control of who gets dessert tonight" or something like that is enough

Ah but if you had to - would you??

I have actually stopped the car by the side of the street before and made my kids get out.

A friend of mine did the *smartest* thing ever. She had to drive 500 miles or something with 4 kids (ages 3-9 or so) so she set out the day before she needed to and threatened to turn the car around if they didn't behave. Of course, the kids didn't believe she'd do it and were SHOCKED when she did. And she made them call grandma and explain why they wouldn't be able to come. Of course, after they begged and begged to let them try again, she did- leaving on the day she knew would get them there on time. And the kids behaved the whole time.

I've actually withheld dessert or whatever once or twice, usually the kids wind up behaving once the threat is made

My older three have just a bit less than three years between them, in total. They have never done that 'are we nearly there yet' thing and most of their squabbling was lowkey - none of them ever hit each other or anything like that - so more annoying than anything else. And the time I crashed the car was not because they were squabbling but because one of them woke up screaming from being asleep!

I forgot yours were so close in age. overall, my kids are great- they have on 20 mths between them and kind of grew up together, relying on each other and whatnot.

but- OMG- car crash? *yipes*

[identity profile] mad-jaks.livejournal.com 2008-09-17 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Child screamed, I jumped about 3 feet in the air and went into a ditch - there were no other cars involved - a guy driving ahead of me drove into the Ambulance station *right ahead of us* and it appeared on the scene about a minute later (literally). The car was a right off but luckily he was a sturdy old clunker and the kids were all in car seats so we weren't damaged - apart from my tiny weeny bump on the head.
