My cat just meowered in his sleep, jolted himself awake and proceeded to fall off the chair he was sleeping on.

I should feel bad for laughing at him.

Really I should.

or stock up on the tuna and whatnot so you have LOTS of things to bribe them with

Get on the good side of our likely new masters.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-04 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
exactly what I was thinking. Donut lures and tuna bribes will take us far

We know how to rule, but we also know how to suck-up.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-04 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
sucking up is equally important

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-05 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
and, with cats, knowing how to skirtch that spot just behind the ear and the other one under the chin, is equally important

Definitely. This knowledge has prevented many a bite from the rather surly cat at the local bookstore.

I love bookstore cats! Cats+books=the best thing! They go together so well!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-10-05 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It's the best combination ever, in my mind. This particular bookstore has a few kittens, too. They're so adorable and ridiculously unhelpful. It's my favorite bookstore in the area.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-05 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
kittens can be helpful? :)

All bookstores should have cats. IT needs to be a requirement or something

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-10-05 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Good point.

It really should.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-05 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
bookstores all need to be randomly stocked with overflowing shelves that have more nooks and corners than should be physically possible without having some slip in from an alternate dimension. And there should be a minimum of three very friendly, yet slightly haughty, cats that seem to appear out of nowhere and disappear with equal ease.

I would be in heaven if this were true for all bookstores. As it is, there are quite a few like that in Seattle (though not enough of them have multiple cats).

the BESt is when you think there's only one cat. It comes buy, you skirtch it's ears, it leaves... you browse some more, it stops by again, etc.. then you think- wasn't cat a bit poofier? nah... skritch, scratch... it goes, comes back- hey wait... it has a white splotch in it's chest, did it always have that?

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-10-05 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL...I bet they do that just to mess with us.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-05 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
and they enjoy messing with us. they are cats afterall

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-10-05 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Cats are all just tricksters in disguise, I swear.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-05 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
you may be onto something. tricksters with a love of tuna but tricksters all the same

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-10-05 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
This is just asking to become a really cracky SPN fic.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-05 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
cracky+SPNfic seem to go together well

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-10-05 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed.
