broken brain babbles

The [livejournal.com profile] tw100  challenge this week is "plot reverse" where you slip the characters into another show.  Of course the first thing I thought of was the Master making the pouty face at the end of LOTTL and yelling "And I would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for you meddling kids!"  but that's DW and not TW.  Come on though, can't you just picture that?

(no one has any clue what I'm talking about, do they?)

*giggles* Yeah, I'm old enough to get it.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
YAY!!! and *phew* because I wasn't sure if anyone would!

Come to think of it Scooby Doo would explain a lot about DW and TW...

[identity profile] taffimai.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Let's see ...

Tosh = Velma, of course.
Gwen = Daphne
Jack = Freddie

*grins* Okay, the only problem is that the closest we have to Shaggy is the Doctor. Which makes the TARDIS Scooby Doo?

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I would be surprised if people *didn't* get it. Hee.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I wasn't sure if it ever made it's way over to the UK, or if the young'uns about would have ever watched it

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I know I've heard Brits talking about Scooby Doo, and my niece, for instance, knows about it because of the recent live-action movies. Plus, they still run the cartoons on TV! Though there's so *much* children's programming these days, it would be easy to miss.

Remember when cartoons were only on Saturday mornings? And there were only about 20 of them in existence at one time? Back in my day... /old geezer

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, I wasn't sure

yep! And there were attempts made at having them teach lessons or whatever. And schoolhouse rock airing inbetween the shows. *iz old geezer too*

Yeah, it's on telly over here these days too. Even Jack would probably get it. *g*

I didn't get it until I read the comments, but I think I'm between Scooby Doo eras. Before my time and it was revived after the time I would have watched children's shows (though I am not opposed to a little Sesame Street or Skinamarink TV still, they make me happy). :D

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
oooh Captain Jack on Sesame Street! that would be fantastic

A is for Abaddon, all big and scary
B is for Blowfish, that make you all wary
C is for Cyberwoman, who avoiding's the plan
D is for Dalek, the murdering evil tin can

Hehe! I'm surprised he hasn't made it there yet, actually. Does British TV show Sesame Street? It must, every other country does. When I was a kid, we had a special Canadian segment in each show, since, at the time, shows had to have a certain amount of 'Canadian content' in them. So we had a few Canadian muppets (a pilot named Dodie and a bear named Basil and a girl in a wheelchair whose name I can't recall) and a 'learn to speak French' thing. I wonder if the Brits ever had anything like that?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] kensieg.livejournal.com 2008-10-14 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-10-15 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
It is! And Alex is right, too, that Bilis Manger needs a Scooby Doo ep of his own.
