Major thanks to whomever it was that nominated Perpetuity for a Children of Time award! It was a very hard story to write so I'm really happy it resonated enough with someone for them to nominate it! :)

I don't know!

I do give them credit for buying shows that got canceled off other networks, lasting even less than a season and showing them. If you ever have a chance to see "Threshold" or "All Saints" or "Haunted" you should. All canceled well before their time. I just don't understand why they don't show their OWN shows!

We just have to keep reminding ourselves that these are the same geniuses who think wrestling is desired programming for SF fans.

oh yeah- and it's actually getting them good ratings. *shudders*

Well, yeah, the wrestling morons follow it wherever it goes. Doesn't mean it they watch anything else on the channel, though. And yes, there probably is some crossover, just like there's crossover for other types of programming. I just can't imagine it's bringing new viewers for anything but that.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
all I know is that it followed Eureka and I JUMPED to change the channel. Most of the time I'm more lackadaisical about doing that.

Same here. No way did I want to see even a second of it. It's repulsive.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
there's this commercial for it a few minutes before the end of eureka- once or twice I'd accidentally turn it off then, thinking it had started.

At least Eureka is out on DVD. And my local library got it so I didn't have to. Now if only "Secret life of Jules Verne" would be released on DVD. Or "Invisible Man" *sighs*

I really want to get the Eureka DVDs.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I've found if I own them I put off watching them, but if I borrow them I watch them right away. I am weird

When I own them, I'll watch them obsessively until I can recite the dialog. :-);-)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
When I tape my favorite episodes, I'd wind up doing that. oddly enough, with dvds, not so much.

I really need to get a dvd player for the computer room

I watch them *on* the computer. :-)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
while doing something else? Or just watching?

[identity profile] tejas.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Just watching. Usually with all the lights off. :-)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
ah. my computer set up isn't all that comfortable, so I don't want to do that

[identity profile] tejas.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I can understand that. Mine started as a matter of the kid watching something on tv that I didn't care for, so I'd just pop in a DVD, settle the earbugs in place and tune it out. :-)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
oh, that makes sense. we have a different set up here so it doesn't work that way
