Major thanks to whomever it was that nominated Perpetuity for a Children of Time award! It was a very hard story to write so I'm really happy it resonated enough with someone for them to nominate it! :)

I love moving icons. I have no idea how people make them.

What do you think about this lovely one?

Damn blue boxers. :-);-)

Still though... lovely bum!

Well, yes. :-)

Do iguanas have a patron saint? (Loved that scene, too. :-)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, the "I was wearing a chair" scene. *sighs happily*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
I hate the episode for the canon issues it brings up (Tony knows NOTHING about movies in it) but OMG that scene. *sighs again*

[identity profile] tejas.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that was before they figured out that Tony Knows All Things Cinema. :-) It was early. I give a show a few free passes for the first few eps on things like that.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah- there's always the issue of getting the characters to the place where they are supposed to be. Besides, it's not like NCIS was ever a stickler for canon (OMG Fornell the first episode, he has no idea who Gibbs is... yet he married Gibbs' second ex-wife?)

But iguana-scared Tony is a thing to behold. As is Tony dancing with Paula.

[identity profile] tejas.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
Right! I greatly prefer the history we now know of between Gibbs and Fornell. But Yankee White couldn't have happened the way it did had they known what *we* already knew and that is that Joe Spano is made of win.

I caught an episode of Hill Street Blues the other night and OMG, HENRY!!!! Talk about the UnFornell. ;-)

*twirls you* I am very very excited by it!

[identity profile] 51stcenturyfox.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Congratulations!

How did I miss this story before? It's really very wonderful.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
thank you! :)

[identity profile] karaokegal.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Congratulations and Jubilations! Especially happy since it got written for the Come As You're Not party.

When the voting opens, I'll do some campaigning for you. :)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes- the story's all thanks to you! I'd never have written it without the Party!

[identity profile] karaokegal.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Blushes becomingly. Which category were you nominated in?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
AU. Which is sort of funny, this being basically the only one I've ever written that would qualify in that category

[identity profile] karaokegal.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Awesome! (I was worried we'd be "running" against each other.)

I'm posting a very dark-fic tonight and I'm still struggling with whether to label it AU or not.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't looked at the list of nominations. Which of yours was nommed?

I hate trying to figure out how to label things. That and coming up with titles. I have no idea why titles are SO HARD

[identity profile] karaokegal.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Command Performance (http://karaokegal.livejournal.com/303679.html), my Jack/Donna fic, was nominated for Captain Jack Harkness (DW) and Served Faithfully (http://karaokegal.livejournal.com/421961.html) the Tosh/Captain John was nominated for Torchwood-Toshiko Sato.

I find it somewhat amusing. I still consider myself a slasher (although I'm bi-fictional) and I've been nominated for two het-fics, although they both have extremely slashy overtones.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
That is funny! I wonder what it says about us when it's out atypical stories that get the nods?

[identity profile] karaokegal.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Depends who does the nominating I guess. Although in my heart of hearts, it would delight me no end if one of my "typical" i.e. canon-subversive against J/I fics got nominated, although both of these fics, especially the Tosh/Capt. John contain a bit of that as well.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't really understand all these awards sites and the whole nomination process. Some you have to nom yourself, others you can't, but who ever does nom has to provide contact info for the author. Some seem to allow anyone to nom and others only a select few... And there seems to be a LOT of awards sites. Or maybe they are all just now? But there's the Children of Time ones, the Forbidden Awards and a bunch of other fandom specific ones
