Major thanks to whomever it was that nominated Perpetuity for a Children of Time award! It was a very hard story to write so I'm really happy it resonated enough with someone for them to nominate it! :)

AU. Which is sort of funny, this being basically the only one I've ever written that would qualify in that category

Awesome! (I was worried we'd be "running" against each other.)

I'm posting a very dark-fic tonight and I'm still struggling with whether to label it AU or not.

I haven't looked at the list of nominations. Which of yours was nommed?

I hate trying to figure out how to label things. That and coming up with titles. I have no idea why titles are SO HARD

Command Performance (http://karaokegal.livejournal.com/303679.html), my Jack/Donna fic, was nominated for Captain Jack Harkness (DW) and Served Faithfully (http://karaokegal.livejournal.com/421961.html) the Tosh/Captain John was nominated for Torchwood-Toshiko Sato.

I find it somewhat amusing. I still consider myself a slasher (although I'm bi-fictional) and I've been nominated for two het-fics, although they both have extremely slashy overtones.

That is funny! I wonder what it says about us when it's out atypical stories that get the nods?

Depends who does the nominating I guess. Although in my heart of hearts, it would delight me no end if one of my "typical" i.e. canon-subversive against J/I fics got nominated, although both of these fics, especially the Tosh/Capt. John contain a bit of that as well.

I don't really understand all these awards sites and the whole nomination process. Some you have to nom yourself, others you can't, but who ever does nom has to provide contact info for the author. Some seem to allow anyone to nom and others only a select few... And there seems to be a LOT of awards sites. Or maybe they are all just now? But there's the Children of Time ones, the Forbidden Awards and a bunch of other fandom specific ones

And last year I was nominated for TW/DW Slash awards, but didn't win. *shrug* As they say...it's an honor just to be nominated... but winning REALLY ROCKS!
