Cliche Bingo

Clichés. We love 'em. Bodyswap, genderswap, telepathy, amnesia, Aliens Made Them Do It, Fuck or Die, Hypothermia, alternate universes -- in fandom, if a story's worth telling, it's worth telling many, many times.

And so we bring you Cliché Bingo. The aim is twofold: firstly, to bring more cliché fic into the world (because you can never have enough bodyswap stories) and, secondly, to encourage people to look again at well-worn clichés, and maybe think of fresh new twists on them.

I decided not to ask for gen, since I figured most prompts could be interpreted that way. But YAY! We can have a lot of fun with these I think!! (And my wildcard guy does look awful scary!)

question- do you know how to set the card up as a table so the prompts can me turned into clickable links?

I don't know if that's even possible with a Jpeg. Since [livejournal.com profile] friendshipper who made them is on my flist, I'll ask when I post mine. But you might have to write an html table (I have a template somewhere) for that to work.

I have mine, except I'm not on my computer and don't know my Photobucket password. I'm off to wrestle with LJ's Scrapbook which I HATE, using a computer with a space bar that doesn't work properly *hits it* (you have to do that to make it work...)

Oooh, that's an idea but I don't know how to make a html table, I'd appreciate your template when you get a chance. No rush obviously.

Computers. Sometimes they make everything SO much more difficult, don't they?

My thumbs hurt from hitting it, and I've only been typing for 15 mins *sigh*

Well, I've just posted mine (which I'm delighted with, because apparently cliche fic is ALL I WRITE *facepalm), so I'll let you know, and also work on the html ;)

Going back to the Gen thing, I would have been fairly happy with most of the 'universal' prompts, but probably would have struggled with "F*** or die", and with the way my luck goes, it wasn't worth the risk...

Well, you could always write the "...or die" ending. That'd be new and interesting! And if it's Jack, it's not like it's a big deal...

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-06-22 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I got "Character Death" as a prompt. Would Jack count?

Jack counts for EVERYTHING. Come on, he's a cliche prompt table all by himself!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-06-22 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
He totally, totally is. LGotta love him

seriously, I looked at the cliches I got and thought they were pretty much what I write! If I got f** or die I was going to write a curse bomb story (where all people could do was say obscure curses) or something like that
