I had a [livejournal.com profile] cliche_bingo card now, with the first story semi-finished and sent to beta, but I was a little disappointed in my card overall; sad as it is to say, I've written a good majority of them already.

I've missed so many....

I am promising myself when my youngest is out on Sunday (ALL DAY) that I am going to settle down with a box of chocolates and read pretty much all day long.

Did you get the tw fic I sent back to you for a second look? I've been having problems with my email.

[identity profile] mad-jaks.livejournal.com 2009-07-02 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, sorry I was doing emergency rapid beta for someone with a deadline I'll get on it tonight after Simon has gone to bed so you should have it later on today, (your time)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-07-02 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
no problem, just checking because my email is having a mind of its own of late *squishes you*

Yay, finally you get to post the word count for all that work on the Big Bang!

I was a little disappointed in my card overall; sad as it is to say, I've written a good majority of them already

I've been having that problem with some of the tw100 challenges lately; unless it's something that allows you to choose from a list of prompts, chances are I've already done a drabble on it. Cliches, characters, episodes, time periods. It's more of a challenge to find something new. (Which probably means I should either branch out my fandoms or get more creative...)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-07-02 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
it is getting harder and harder to find something new, isn't it? *sighs*

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2009-07-02 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I think I've written too many drabbles. It does tend to use up your available plotlines faster!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-07-02 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
you know you could also look at [livejournal.com profile] gen_drabble or [livejournal.com profile] tv_100 for non-specific fandom drabble writing.

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2009-07-02 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not necessarily looking to write more drabbles - I've challenged myself to do every tw100 one this year, but beyond that I don't mind doing other lengths. I just haven't had much time to branch out lately. I'm taking a look at gen_drabble though, because if I get serious about trying to force myself out of my Torchwood comfort zone, it could help. I've been doing one of the prompt tables from a community you recommended, and that's allowing me to try other things when I remember to!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-07-02 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, I understand completely. Glad the prompt table thing is being helpful. Myself, I've been finding it hard to quit flittering around long enough to focus and WRITE lately

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2009-07-02 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you had to focus A LOT for your big bang. Maybe your brain is trying to take a break. :)

I feel like I'm in a period of grace, sort of, since my schedule is so crazy I don't even expect myself to be able to focus. If I do manage it briefly, it's bonus.

I'm just about to head of to bed but had to just drop in to say yes, I thought that when I looked at my cliche_bingo card to. Well, my actual thought was 'but that's my 'all my fic' list right there'.

The only hope is to subvert the cliche! We can do this!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-07-02 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
*Joins you in subverting the cliche* With luck it'll still spark a few plotbunnies for us, right?

[identity profile] jadesfire.livejournal.com 2009-07-02 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
We should have badges or something :)

I have almost 400 words of NCIS fic that I don't hate, which is 400 more words than I've liked for a long time. So that's got to be a good start!

WOOT!! Go you!!! That's just awesome!!!! Image
