donutsweeper | Torchwood 3x02 question (and a bit of reaction)

For a brief second, at about the 15 minute mark, the Torchwood information is brought up on the screen by Lois Abeeba (the inquisitive newbie/temp in Frobisher's office) and it says "although Torchwood 2 in Glasgow is thought to have disbanded and Torchwood 1 in London is now defunct following the Battle of Canary Wharf..."

So... poor 'very strange man in Glasgow' is no more? (And no mention of TW 4, btw, I guess it really is lost.)

And.... EWWWWWWW gross. Just ew. Although it does imply the Face of Boe thing is a load of crap.

And.. why are some kids in school and some not? I'd very much like this to make a little more sense please.

I still don't understand why this kid-speaking thing lead to the kill order on Torchwood. Or why there is yet ANOTHER supersekkrit UK alien/terrorist hunting organization. Or where UNIT is.

And... there was a story about Jack being sealed up in concrete. It gave me nightmares. Thanks, TW, I really needed to revisit that.

I did laugh when, in the previews, Jack is in his WWII coat again. Good to know it never goes out of style. And survives bombs and fire and everything else.

although, in general, I can't stand sitcoms. They're too dumb for me.

Nor can I. I'm pretty sure the only one I ever liked was Home Improvement.

I watched that a bit. current ones-wise I've occassionally caught some of "big bang theory" and "2 and a half men" they aren't bad, but not great either

I don't really ever watch TV on TV, anymore, so I pretty much don't see any of the new ones.

Ah. Makes sense. There's a ton on youtube for some reason. My hubby watched two and a half men on youtube so I overhear a lot.

best line? they tell the kid he can't stay home alone and the kid says 'why' and they say 'you know why' to which the kids responds- 'but I don't have a turtle to put in the microwave anymore"

I really kind of hope I get this apartment I applied for, because cable and internet both come standard, so I could actually watch stuff a lot more easily.

I only have basic cable (not digital) which kind of sucks, but at least I do have that and fairly decent internet

I miss cable, mostly for SciFi (or, should I say, SyFy).

They dropped scifi for a bit here and we considered getting digital but then they brought it back. We're considering digital anyway mostly because of bbca and a soccer channel (hubby liked soccer)

It'd be fun to have BBCA.

YES! So much so! But it's really not worth the extra $20 a month. Not at the moment anyway.

It's all about quality, which I think hardly justifies a government mandate. Meanwhile, I've lost two channels because, even if you do have a weak signal, it doesn't show anything at a certain point.

so if you can't afford cable, or cable isn't in your area you are shit out of luck
