SGU the liveblogging fail edition

So... how do they know the address of the ship?

And it makes *so* much sense to have the guy with the CONCUSSION to do the body switch.

And WHY is Jack there? He's not in charge of the stargate anymore.

I'm almost starting to like Lt. Scott. *shudders*

They actually took senator's daughter to see her mom? Not used a camera phone or anything? And WTH- the mom didn't care that hubby and daughter gated to another planet, but a ship is too much to handle?

This body switch thing is ridiculously annoying. So who the hell is in charge? The random guy there for an hour or the people LIVING there? And they're obviously not giving a shit about the body their inhabiting. Which is terribly squicky. And so much for the whole 'cut off from Earth' thing since anyone can slip in and take over. God these body switch stone things are stupid.

Rush is even more annoying today. I know he's supposed to be the bad guy, but this is too much.

Oh lord this episode is bad. Senator's wife is threatening to expose the stargate. Angry soldier is angry. Evil Rush is evil. Annoying people are annoying.

*hee* "What did you just do?" "I saved his life" "By shooting him?"

Oh look, religious imagery.

Why didn't they explore the planet with the stupid flying camera thing?

And another episode where Ming Na does nothing. But she gets two brief cameos.

So did they abandon random scientist people on that other planet?

Has anyone even explained to Eli how the event horizon thing of a stargate works? Why would he question putting his arm through?

Oooh, Eli has a wicked sunburn. Something vaguely realistic. How *shocking* Scott has one too- even where it would be based on his uniform. I'm gobsmacked.

And I guess there will be no explanation of haunted planet's swirly sand creature/thing.

But there is random lifepod/ship thing taking off from THE DESTINY. ooooh. I'm scared.

then again, supposedly Ming Na's character is an important one and she's had maybe 10 lines in 3 hours of programming so far.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
I hope they step up her character a bit.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
They certainly can't make her any less important

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
I noticed she was actually listed under "guest stars" for that episode.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Really? I hadn't noticed that. I know Lou Diamond Phillips' status with the show changed from star to guest star, but I didn't realize hers had changed as well.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. On her Twitter, though, she said she was supposed to have more screen time as the season progressed, so let's hope that's true.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Or not.. if the storyline that gatefail sprang up about wind up being true.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
Oh wow. A TON.

this article basically sums it up. http://www.hardcorenerdity.com/profiles/blog/show?id=2239098%3ABlogPost%3A72274

It's official, idiots have taken over the Stargate franchise.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
Absolutely. It was fascinating to see it play out and how they just kept digging a bigger and bigger hole for themselves.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
I just really have to wonder what ever happened to the Stargate I started watching back in 1997.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
They decided the only people interested in watching was horny 18-25 year old guys and figured that even though they were 40-50 year old guys, they knew exactly what that audience wanted.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
Sadly, I think you're right on. Even Atlantis never really lived up to the original, but at least it was better than this.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
I liked early atlantis. But even at its worst it was better than this so far

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
I think they sometimes let the popularity get to them.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
You say popularity, I say egos...

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
Putting the two together is just asking for it.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-11 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It really, really is. And is the case FAR too often

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-12 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
Which is probably why things usually start out so well and just go downhill from there.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-12 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
Like what's going on with NCIS. It's suddenly doing well in the ratings and the producer is so full of himself and chatting with the media instead of actually attempting storylines that, oh, MAKE SENSE

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-12 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Gaining new fans and totally ignoring the loyal ones.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-12 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
shows do it all the time and it annoys the crap out of me. I always think it's dumb- I always assume it's easier to keep the people already watching and interested than trying to find new ones

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-12 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Same here. I think that's too logical for them, though.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-12 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
What is this logic you speak of?

O.o

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-12 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
I think I try to apply logic to too many things in life.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-12 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
You're old enough to know better than that!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
*hangs head* I really am.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-13 03:12 pm (UTC)(link)
30 bites of a stale donut for you!!!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-14 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
its a suitable punishment!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-15 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose you're right.
