NCIS Question

Tim said- When I was a kid on base... Since when was did he have a military background?

It popped up outta nowhere last season. Apparently his father was military, probably a pilot with the Alameda and previous reference. There was a line in (whatever the ep was with the kid that found the gun) about his father being "The Great Santini".

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-21 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, thanks. I didn't remember that. It doesn't fit at all with what I thought of McGee's background (from when Sarah was introduced)

[identity profile] webbgirl.livejournal.com 2009-10-21 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Nope. That plus the fact that he knew so little about military life when he first started. Then there's the whole thing about him being a Super!Scout when he *twice* stumbled into poison ivy horrifically.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-21 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah... canon compliance and NCIS don't really go hand in hand, does it?

The poison ivy thing bugged me QUITE a bit.

[identity profile] adafrog.livejournal.com 2009-10-21 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
I hadn't heard about that, either. huh.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-21 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
Apparently it was randomly introduced last season sometime *shrugs* who knew?

[identity profile] adafrog.livejournal.com 2009-10-21 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Whatever. *rolls eyes*

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-22 09:46 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that totally just came out of nowhere.

But, then, I was a bit too busy noticing how fit Tim's gotten, lately, to shake my fist at them for that.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-22 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Apparently (points up) it was mentioned last season. Which contradicts everything we've previously learned about him, but, oh well.

And yes, may I say his shirt was tight in *all* the right places

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
I was a happy little bunny watching it. Although I've never managed goggles that'll let me slash McGee with anyone.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, he just doesn't really work with anyone in that way.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
I feel a bit guilty about that. I've read the occassional Tim/Tony that semi works if I think of them ooc. But Gibbs/Tim is just.. *shudders*

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
I feel he's just too young to be slashed with Gibbs. It's more of a father and son sort of relationship, anyway.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
wow, there's a 26 year difference in dob of the actors. Mark Harmon is 1951 and Sean Murry is 1977. wow. ick

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
I find it somewhat amusing that Sean Murray is actually older than my oldest brother. Only by a year, but, still, I really thought he was younger.

Now I feel bad for thinking my brother looks older...

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
It is.

I still think it's hilarious that he was in Hocus Pocus back in the day.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
I don't remember that.

I do vaguely remember MW in "Loving" though. He was so young

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
He was the cat. I swear to god.

I mostly remember him from Dark Angel. I loved that show.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
S1 Dark Angel in particular. OMG the glasses. The Scruff. SO SEXY

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
GUH is all that comes to mind. and maybe DROOL

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
That show was just full of pretty.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
S1 much moreso than S2 but either way OMG yes

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's one of those shows where the second season just didn't live up to the first.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
God yes. It really seemed like the network execs kept going- okay we like your show but it needs a little something.. what if we try X? Hmmm, that didn't work. Now let's try Y. Hmmm, what about Z?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
It's been the downfall of many a show

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
If only there were a network out there that didn't have to rely on executives.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
some seem to get it right though... USA for one.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Very true. And at least we have something new from them to watch tonight.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
White Collar! I'm stupidly excited about it.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm getting pretty excited myself, now. I've been watching some of the clips and previews.

Not to mention, I really like his hats.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
ISn't he just sexy as hell in them? There's already a main comm [livejournal.com profile] whitecollar_tv and a shippy one [livejournal.com profile] caffrey_burke.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Some people just can't pull those off, but he most definitely can, and should be encouraged to do so.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
He's handsome as all hell. And the clothes they have him in! *sighs happily*

But then again, I've liked him since his Guidling Light days back in 2001 and 2002

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I sadly don't think I've actually seen him in anything before this.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-23 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I never watched Chuck, so I didn't see him on there. I tried to watch "Traveler" but it was pretty bad. And I hated "Tru Calling" but I did watch a few of the episodes with him on it.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-24 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
I watched probably three episodes of Tru Calling, and I honestly don't remember if he was in them, which is probably a good indication that he was not.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-24 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
He was only in S2? Or something? I thought the show was terrible overall.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-25 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I wasn't particularly impressed.
