Oh, go you! Is this your first time?
YES! WTH am I thinking??!?! I've never even seen fandoms for the things I signed up for.
Congratulations! And I think that's probably the point--the fandoms aren't very big, which is how they get into Yuletide in the first place. You'll make someone very, very happy!
I hope so. There were a lot of fandoms that I knew the source material for, but I was careful to sign up for ones I thought I could actually write. But still, I hate fic exchanges. I have horrible luck with them and rarely have the recipient leave feedback.
You're a better woman than I am. I have an allergy to ficathons. ;-)
I usually do, the last several I wrote for I didn't wind up getting feedback from the intended recipient, but I'm hoping it'll get my brain going in new directions. I feel like I've been doing the same ol' same old lately
*hands paper bag* It'll be awesome, and you'll be great! Bet you a quid you sign up again next year.
*grabs bag* I hope so. Thanks
You need to try something long. That'd stretch your writing brain. :-)
there's that pesky plot problem that comes with that.
Although I have a NCIS ghost story idea that's been burbling in my brain for a bit.

YEAH! Write it!
If you ever want someone to bounce plot stuff off of, you know where to find me. :-)
Speaking of long plotty NCIS fics, I've got one to run through one last beta as soon as my headache passes. It's a 'zine fic, but it's a *good* one.

Have you ever seen any Magnificent Seven (tv show from 10 years ago or so)?
Drat, one of them is the ghost haunting Abby's lab. If I can make the idea work. (Which is a big if) It is out on DVD and the pilot is up at youtube
That's actually kinda cool. :-) I bet it's up on Hulu.
unfortunately not. It's not streaming online anywhere I could find.
I suspect I can find it. :-) I've heard lots of good things about it.
For a show that only had 20 something episodes it has a very loyal fandom. Although, it's interesting how much fanon there is for it. (some basic things, like the town it takes place in, were never mentioned in the series, but fanon has named it)
there's QUITE a lot in that fandom that fanon has created. NCIS doesn't have as much, but there is some (although more is just conflicting canon)
With only 20 episodes, strong fanon is pretty much a requirement, I'd think. :-)
otherwise it would have faded away. it's strange how some fandom's thrive and others just never take hold
There's got to be something that reaches out and grabs people. It's always a shame when a show dies on the vine, especially when it's still sparking people's imaginations a decade later.
Mag7 was one of the cases where fan support got the show to avoid cancellation- it originally only had a half season but got renewed based on the support. The network still cancelled it after the next season, but it's always nice when fans get the brass to listen like that.
Oh, man, that *is* nice. I'll have to check it out now. :-)
