Go to where you suspect there are some shards. Arm yourself with one (or more) slices of bread - if no one in your house eats the crust use those. Dab/wipe at the floor with them, they'll pick up all the tiny slivers really well.

It's maybe a trick I learned from my mum - I can't ever remember NOT doing it.
