Owen's Thanksgiving Musings

Title: Owen's Thanksgiving Musings
Pairing/Rating/Warning: none, rated G
Word Count: 100
Summary: Owen's not enjoying Thanksgiving as much as everyone else
Author's note: Eighth in the powdered sugar crack!fic series. To figure out the secret ingredient Jack used for his bread pudding look at the recipe here.

Owen pushed the food around on his plate.  It wasn’t that bad, but it wasn’t particularly good either.  The turkey was dry and there wasn’t any gravy.  The green beans were squeaky, the black bits in the stuffing tasted odd, and bread pudding?  He’d always hated the stuff.

He looked up when Tosh commented about it being warm in the room.  The others seemed to be rather enjoying the meal.  Ianto looked lost in a blissful fog and Gwen was doing something with her turkey drumstick that should be illegal.

Wait a minute, what was secret ingredient in the pudding?

Hee, poor Owen. I was rooting for him to finally get some this time.

I remember you said the word count was fighting you on this, but your food descriptions are *perfect* and admirably succinct. And Gwen and the drumstick, yikes! :)

Yay! I'm still digesting my Thanksgiving dinner, or I'd already be planning a trip to the donut shop in the morning. Alien threat be damned.

Owen'll get them eventually, but it's much more fun to tease him with them then let him taste success (literally and metaphorically). Drabbles are weird. So is worrying about word count. One of these days I'm going to save a drabble in all its various forms, edits and rewrites just to compare them

there's always time/room for donuts tomorrow. Or the next day

And offer us a commentary on the process yes?
In a highly amusing manner?

*looks forward to it*

I vaguely did that when I posted the drabble/double drabble/ficlet for 'Conversations with the dead" (Bob fraser/Jack) but without commentary. hmmm... maybe I'll think more about actually doing this...

You will? Oh good - seeing how other people's thought processes work is *fun*

Now all I have to do is REMEMBER to save as so I could do this

Done! (http://donutsweeper.livejournal.com/34777.html) Well, sort of.
