My kids are off at sleep-away camp right now. The camp has a rule that in order to get into lunch on Wednesdays you must bring a letter to mail. As a result we've (or I should say our cat) has received the following two (guess how many Wednesdays he's been at camp?)letters from our son:

(first letter)

Meow meow mrrrt mmmrtert meow meow *yawn* drt drrrrt meow meow. Kato, I ♥ you. You are my favorite kitty in the household. Please write back

(second letter)

Hows your food. The food here is good. it is raining right now. I hope its not raining there otherwise you'll make your ma-aw-a-a-a noise again

That's it. Word for word the letters my son has sent. Not even a 'tell mom hi' or 'tell mom to write back' or anything.

*sigh*

I doubt they have rules for the councellors either here, and both kids are already thinking about working there. Daughter writes all the time (and has written lots of other people) it's just son that doesn't.

Is this the same camp that she worked at last year? I'm sorry it isn't going well this year :(

I don't think boys feel the need to 'converse' the same way that girls do...

Yep the same camp as last year - she was in two minds about going back at all (for lots of reasons) but decided to in the end, mostly because the Director told her he'd implemented quite a few of her suggestions from last year.

I think that a lot of it is that she's missing her boyfriend (she didn't have one this time last year).

oh, the boyfriend issue might make a big difference!
