Another M7 crack_van rec

Fandom: The Magnificent Seven
Pairing: Vin/Ezra
Length: ~315k
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: Katherine's Magnificent Seven Fiction
Why this must be read:

So few stories deal with the consequences of others finding out about a homosexual relationship in the Old West, something that was considered immoral by most and was even illegal. In this case Vin and Erza fall in love and their friends slowly find out about them being a couple, with reactions ranging from being ecstatic to condemning them to hell. Katherine weaves all this together in a compelling and beautiful story that is a joy to read.

You are evil, just so you know. The lovely, wonderful sort of tempt-me-into-new-fandom evil. *has spent the last twelve hours reading that fic in between attempting to do some writing and other things what need done*

And now I really must (a) sleep, and (b) go actually find and watch the canon for this...

*hee* it's a great story, isn't it?

Oh, if you read the next chapter by clicking 'next' and not going back to the index page, you'll have missed the last part so check and make sure.

For the longest time I read fic before watching any of this canon (something I NEVER do) and then only watched the pilot, which is up at youtube. Even now I've only seen a handful of episodes, I just don't have the time to watch them all. They are on dvd and netflix has them and there are other places to *acquire* them as well if you are interested.

*nods* I haven't finished it yet, as I did decide to go to bed. I'll continue reading today (or possibly tomorrow, today isn't going so well, and it's only been today for an hour)... it's an excellent story, even without knowing the characters beyond what I read in fanfic - which started with crossovers, and just...

*adds another fandom to the list of ones to watch/catch up on*

I've got a couple usual places to look to watch it, and if things go well at the end of August/start of September, I'll be able to acquire the canon on DVD sooner or later. *has her fingers crossed, and is muttering that she will bloody well find a job on this trip, even if it's factory work or retail management*

I hope today gets better for you. And good luck on the job search!

I'm not really rushing to watch the episodes, I watched the ones that had plots/character development I was interested in, but some of the others might wind up having me dislike aspects of the characters (if that makes sense)

*nods* That does make sense.

Apparently having fudge brownies helps, even if it doesn't fix the problem entirely. :)

And thank you! I'm going to where there are, from all reports, jobs to be had, so the theory is I won't come back to the DC area for longer than it takes to pack my stuff up and move it sometime at the beginning of next year (as I don't anticipate having anywhere to move it too in the first few months, even if I find some sort of housing).

Brownies or donuts or chocolate in general ALWAYS helps *nods*
