(no subject)

I finally bite the bullet and quit freaking out over my Yuletide story and go to post it at AO3... only to find AO3 is down for maintenance. *grrrrr*

I just got it to work again a minute ago. I must have hit it at the wrong time.

(isn't it ridiculously early for you now?)

It's half four in the morning, I work permanant nights (less irksome people getting underfoot, especially at this time of year).

I think AO3 put a warning up, waaaay back before it started that people may have trouble getting in from time to time during Yuletide, they're using this year as a testing ground to figure out better ways to handle the load or some such.

Ah, the night shift. My husband worked that for a while back when jobs were scarce, he got off at 2am if I remember correctly. In a lot of ways it was nice though- he was home during the day and the roads were empty when commuting and there wasn't anyone bugging him at work with useless crap

That makes a lot of sense about AO3 and Yuletide. I bet the 19th and 20th are going to be interesting.

Oh yeah, I like coming in after all the management have buggered off, and leaving before they roll in, bliss!

19th and 20th will probably be 'duck and cover and pray you don't want to read anything' day, lol.

I feel bad for people who aren't participating in Yuletide for that reason. I bet it'll be dodgy on the 25th too, if I remember right it crashed repeatedly then when everyone was trying to access their gifts
