The Most (un)Wonderful Time of the Year
Title: The Most (un)Wonderful Time of the Year
Pairing/Warning/Rating: none, rated G
Word Count: 100
Summary: Jack envies the team this time of year
Author's Note: written for
tw100's Christmasolstikwanzakah Songs challenge
The team enjoyed this time of year. They had loved ones to spend the holidays with. Jack didn’t. They had nieces and nephews to buy toys for, grandmothers that worried enough to send homemade scarves to ward off the chill, and mums who sent fudge.
He’d sit and listen as they prattled on about their Christmas plans. When they asked, if they asked, he’d plaster a smile on his face and spin some story of plans of his own. They didn’t know there was no one waiting for him under the mistletoe, and he wanted to keep it that way.

I like how you make me want to hug him and hit upside of the head all in just 100 words. Genius.

Lovely piece. I'm always amazed at what people can do with drabbles and this is an excellent example of that power.
