“You’re beautiful.”  He leaned over, placing a kiss on her forehead.

“Every bride is beautiful on their wedding day, Jack,”  she replied.

“Having seen a lot of brides,  I can honestly tell you that’s not always true.”

“Really?  What about Mom and Gran?”

“Your mom looked like an angel.  And your grandmother...” 

“What about me?”

“Gwen!” Jack whirled around in surprise.  “You were so beautiful you took my breath away.”

She thwacked him lightly.  “Always the flirt, aren’t you?”

“You wouldn’t have it any other way.”  He offered his arm.  “May I escort you to your seat?”

“I’d be delighted.”
