I am a whump and h/c junkie. Injuries, illnesses, heroes struggling physically/emotionally, that kind of thing. Tumblr has been great, in a way, and I've wound up watching a number of shows based on gifsets. (Merlin, Graceland, Emerald City, and Stitchers all come to mind.) Then there's all those buddy cop shows where one is injured and the other has to care for him? I could watch those or read about them all day. As a result I tend to gravitate towards the gen side of fandom, which is always a bit harder to find, but oh well, what can you do other than write, read and comment, right? Be the change and all that.

There are some good whumpy, h/c and emotional h/c shows on now, my favorite probably being Lethal Weapon which has Riggs constantly being put through the emotional wringer and has a lovely found family (also a favorite trope of mine) aspect to it as well.

H/C seems to be one of those things that never goes out of fashion :) I like it in small doses, and you're write, it's much rarer in Gen than in shipfic. SGA felt like the high point for it, as team!whump was pretty much the show, as it sounds like it is in Lethal Weapon!

SGA was glorious or giving us gen found family whump and h/c in canon AND fandom. *sighs happily*

I am so, so into H/C these days too! It's one of the reasons I am *still* writing Jack. He has so much hurt to be comforted about, just in canon, let alone anything else I choose to do to him!

I wish Miracle Day hadn't happened, maybe CoE as well, because they both really soured me towards Jack. He does hurt *really* well though, in canon and fanfic!

I... have warmed to MD and CoE over the years. There are still bits I despise (lots of bits in MD, especially Rex Matheson) but there's a lot of good bits too, and a lot of great development for Jack. :-)

Honestly I never finished MD, it just got too violent and the people acting too dumb. One of these days maybe.
