Internet, Schmiternet

Saturday morning my internet access decides to die.  I foolishly think that calling the ISP’s customer service number would be a good way to get the problem resolved.

Silly me.

After 8 minutes of wading through an endless voicemail system I finally get to the section dealing with “internet connectivity.”  My choices are “If your access to the internet is unstable, press 1 now, if you do not have any access to the internet at this time, press 2 now.”  So, I press 2.  Then the nice system tells me how there are three online sites devoted to helping me with my internet access difficulties and gives me their web addresses, as well as the ISP’s email address; says “thank you for calling comcast” and hangs up on me.

Really helpful there.  Thanks.

lol, sorry, but lol!!!!

That is right up there with packets of peanuts saying 'may contain nuts' and sleeping pills saying 'may cause drowsiness'

Behold the pointlessness of the faceless electronic system. Bring back real people call centers!

I LOVE your icon! It fits so perfectly!! Eventually I did manage to speak to a human being, but only by pretending it was my phone service that was down and then asking to be transfered to someone in their internet support department.

I'm not sure how they thought I could be calling from a phoneline that was down to report a problem though...

::headdesk:: Comcast bought Time Warner here in Houston recently, and...yeah. It's been less than Comcastic. Comcastic my...rear end, I''l say, in case you're at work on a Sunday for some reason. *g*

Same thing here. We had time warner's roadrunner, but then Comcast took over. Luckily there is a service center not too far from me and I exchanged my old RR modem for the new ones comcast is using and it seems to be working now... I'm thinking comcastic is actually a curse word...

Glad it's working! And yeah, curse word.

The same way they thought that you were going to visit a website without an internet connection. You are secretly one of the x-men with super communications powers *snort*

I can't remember where I got the icon, I have a whole bunch of MUNCLE icons from somewhere.
