So that was April
Held a seder for the first time in ages this year and it mostly went well other than me messing up the meal for it. Well, misjudging the meal anyway. Normally I make veggie cutlets (carrots, onion and celery shredded and mixed with green pepper, spinach, matzoh meal and a few other things) and brisket but this year there were a lot more vegetarians so I decided to skip the brisket and double the cutlets. But then HILARIOUSLY misread the recipe when buying stuff and doing prep work.
When I read the well loved (aka rather faded and stained) recipe card's ingredient list I read 2 lb carrots so, since I was doubling the recipe I bought the 5lb bag and then decided to shred them all. (My thinking was I wasn't certain if doubling would be enough, so I could just make up more with the extra shredded carrots). Later, when putting everything together it mentioned how many cups of shredded carrots the 2lb were supposed to be and it seemed a... very low number for the huge bowl of shredded carrots I had so I examined the list a bit more carefully. It said 2 lg (lg as in short for large as opposed to lb as in pounds). Whoops.
Since it wasn't passover yet I made up some carrot bread. And then measured out the remaining carrot (I didn't need to make more cutlets as it turned out) and froze them in 1C portions. I froze ELEVEN CUPS of shredded carrots. Note to self - do NOT shred the entire 5lb bag of carrots next time.
The seder was very informal but went well and, of course, I made too much food. Oh darn, leftovers for everyone!
Not surprisingly, there was a lot of the manischewitz (very sweet passover wine) that I bought for the charosets leftover since other than Elijah's cup no one drank it so I used it up to make Dried Plum and Port Bread (it's not exactly port, but sweet enough a wine it works quite well) which I cannot wait to eat.

I finished the bag rug. This one was made solely with hamburger/hot dog bun bags for the runner and bagel bags for the knots. It's 21"x 13" ish aka the perfect size for two pairs of boots.
And random, but have a picture of a baby (well teenaged) bunny that was nomming grass in my side yard
Last but not least, here's two weeks of

how Yao Yongzheng traveled back in time to save everyone by ShippersList (6k, locked to archive)
Summary: ”You were a man who loved the sound of his own voice,” the shape says, voice drifting over to him like a half-forgotten scent. ”So, how about you put that voice to better use and show what good you actually are.” OR A story in which Fate challenges Sect Leader Yao to put his money where his mouth is and change everything better. Obviously, it should be easy and simple because Sect Leader Yao knows everything, right? (absolutely great (and original) time travel AU)
Along the Way to Home by meyari (24k)
Summary: Death wasn’t exactly unexpected. Wen Ruohan had known that the entire Jianghu had it out for him. He’d taken logical steps to make sure he wouldn’t die. Getting stabbed in the back by an obsequious little worm of a genius shouldn’t have been a problem. If his time travel array hadn’t done… interesting things. Like remove the taint of the Yin Iron. Give him a healthy young body with a core no bigger than he’d had when he was twenty. Oh, and dropping him in Yiling, of all places; that was a surprise. Oh well. He’d just have to figure out how to handle his other self, the Yin Iron, and the street kid clinging to his thigh. Good thing he was good at improvising. (Completely chaotic and cracky time travel AU)
Paper Dolls and Butterflies by EHyde (600 words)
Summary: While Wei Wuxian is testing a spell, A-Yuan finds a silly paper doll to play with. (short but cute burial mounds days fic)
Networking 101 by rainbowninja167 (16k)
Summary Snippet: Thirteen years ago, Wei Wuxian abruptly quit cultivation, abandoned his plans to form a telepathic bond with his siblings, and instead bonded with a pair of Wens that he barely knew. Now in the present day, Lan Qiren has asked Wei Wuxian for help infiltrating an academic conference to retrieve a dangerous artifact. And considering Wei Wuxian's reputation, it's only prudent to send someone trustworthy along to keep an eye on him... (really interesting telepathic plus modern-with-cultivation new AU)
