So I spent all week trying to finesse this drabble for [community profile] tw100's friends and enemies.  Never did get it to work right and now that challenge is over.  *sigh* I hate it when writing's like that.

So, my flist has been quiet lately.  How are all of you?

Wet, heavy snow. About ten inches as of five hours ago, and it's not stopping anytime soon. Plus, I find myself unusually distressed at the news that an ex of mine has gotten married. He's a good guy and I'm quite happy for him, really, and our relationship ended over ten years ago, so no issues there. It's the inevitable comparison with my life that's depressing me.

Um, I told myself I was going to complain less. I've got some awesome reading ahead of me this weekend - some rare comics I got from eBay and the most recent Hellblazer graphic novel and then perhaps the book of post-apocalyptic stories I picked up last Friday.

I hope you had a nice Passover.

I haven't read Hellblazer in ages. Comics just got too expensive to buy and the libraries stopped carrying them. What other ones did you get?

10" of snow? I guess we're lucky here then, it's been snowing lightly all morning, but nothings really sticking because the ground is too warm.

and *hugs*

I actually read most of Grant Morrison's The Invisibles through interlibrary loan. But yeah, I buy a lot of graphic novels - another reason I am so very much Amazon's bitch.

I don't know how familiar you are with Matt Wagner's Grendel comics, but I got the Silverback 3 issue miniseries with Argent's backstory. I'm a little weird about Grendel - I almost love the mythology more than the actual stories as they're written - but these were $10 and in beautiful condition, so I figured why not?

I ♥ graphic novels, especially if you can get them used (or, even better, if you library has them). I loved Hellblazer's cancer story, but the comics themselves were so damned expensive, but picked up the graphic novel version for $5.

I'm only vaguely familiar with Grendel, my husband read it for awhile, but I only skimmed it. Sounds like you got a great deal on it though!
