This month I:
Really started to dabble in the NCIS fandom
Finally came to an unsatisfying end to my "Old Man" universe.  I still wish I'd stopped it after the first story.
But still haven't made a decision about the ending to my [community profile] tardis_bigbang, I suppose I'll have to do that soon.
And wrote my 150th story! (Ménage à Trois)

Pushy friends are pretty awesome, though. Most of the time. I never would've watched NCIS if [livejournal.com profile] luthien82 hadn't bugged people to make her Tony DiNozzo icons and I just kind of happened to have time on my hands and made icons and somehow ended up reading fanfiction instead and then I went and downloaded *grins* ... Back then, that was still possible.

An island? Are you kidding? ... More like a small kingdom somewhere *grins*

Oops!

*thanks [livejournal.com profile] luthien82* she's awesome. If you hadn't got into it there'd be no president!gibbs and really that's just a terrible thought...

or a large kingdom....

It was awful... a terrible moment in my young life. I had to go re-download it before my brain died from NCIS-withdrawal.

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
There wouldn't be a president!Gibbs, there would be no telepathic!Tony, I wouldn't be writing 10 cliché fics for the two of them, there'd be no soldier!gibbs/college boy!Tony and so on...
... I think it's pretty obvious that I like AUs *facepalm*

Why not the whole world while we're at it? :D

NCIS-withdrawal is dangerous! Very dangerous! Take care of yourself! Don't endanger yourself!
ext_12517: (Default)

[identity profile] adela-nightmoon.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
And that's why I *heart* your fics. AU's are bloody awesome. I'm a big believer in AU fics.
I'm trying to convince my brain to write me a lawyer!Tony fic but it's going nowhere fast. I shall persevere though cause I really like lawyer!tony...

And now I have another way to take over the world... dammit it... that's far too many ways...

I shall. Oh believe me I shall. I get this strange feeling I'm going to be going and watching s5 all tonight...

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooooooh, lawyer!Tony! That's awesome! If you need someone to squee over every word you write, I'm your girl! *nods*

AUs are just so much love. I adore AUs. 'm going to write fighterpilot!Tony for the [livejournal.com profile] ncis_bigbang, I think *nods*

The world is so easy to take over. I wonder why we haven't done it yet *facepalm*

That's a very good cure against withdrawal, yes! ... I wish I had 5.15! I saw screencaps. Tony going all military and wearing his shades and that black shirt has killed me in the best way possible *swoons*

... Do you think we should stop hijacking [livejournal.com profile] donutsweeper's journal? *makes thinky face*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
no need- it's fine with me!

oh- for the bigbang- have you started a thread where people can volunteer to be betas or cheerleaders or whatnot?

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Not yet, but I plan on doing that sometime soon. Latest when the sign-ups for writers end.

... You don't want to sign up as a writer? *puppy dog eyes*
(Nah, I can understand. Though it'd be really awesome. But we need cheerleaders and betas, too *nods*)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't decided yet. 20k is a LOT. But there's still a few weeks to sign up, right?

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Can I tempt you with some Tony and the promise to squee muchly over everything you write? ♥

There is - till the 12th of May, if I remember correctly :D

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
lol. I may wind up signing up and then dropping out if I can't make it work. I dunno.

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
You could always do that *nods* I'm going to sign up for sure and I have no idea if I can write 20k *facepalm* Though I think the fact that I'm writing about Tony is going to make it okay. Boy's just easiest for me to write.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 03:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I barely managed 20k for my tw bigbang. and that's Jack and I've been writing in that fandom for awhile. NCIS would be even harder

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Well. You don't have to sign up, obviously, but I'd love it :D

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll see where my head is closer to the deadline. I'll be mentioned in the newsletter when it's close to that, right?

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
... Should be, if either Kip of I make a post saying that the deadline is near somewhere. Which I guess we should do *nods*

lawyer!Tony all confident and attacky!lawyer and suits and .... *sighs happily*
and dear god look what I think I'm going to be writing... I was supposed to be trying to write Bones fic... gah...

Screencaps? Oh god... gimme *makes grabby hand motions*... I need to get more in the NCIS fandom if I miss stuff like this - usually I'm just happy with the fic but gah

mmm... maybe... possibly... nah... ah see? ^ all cool. Awesome.

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooooooh, yeah. You know. I'm going to study law. I'll get back to you on that idea once I know more about law and maybe I'll try my luck with lawyer!Tony, too, if you don't mind :D

[livejournal.com profile] ncis_caps
I went looking for them 'cause [livejournal.com profile] donutsweeper said Tony was both competent and sexy in that episode and how could I possibly not search for caps, then? :D

Yay! :D

I wanted to do law but the uni I wanted had a far too high entry-level score thingy and I refused to go to a much lesser one to get in. So I'm doing arts instead and I'm glad I did... law is so much work!

how could I say no?b all the more lawyer!tony the better.

Ooh! Thankyou *smooshes*

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 03:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think that's going to be a problem for me. The entry-level for the universities I want to go to is something like 2.3 and I'm going to get 1.7 or 1.6, I think. (1.0 is the best there is, 6.something the worst possible and starting at 4.something, you fail) *nods*
... 's going to be one hell of a lot of work, especially since I kind of want to catch a few seminars of philosophy as well. But it'll be okay *nods* I can be studiously studious when I have to be.

Yay! *squees*
ext_12517: (Default)

[identity profile] adela-nightmoon.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah. thanks for that. Ours is different. We go by TER levels. Like... if you get above 80 you're above 80% of the students who did it. (lowest entry levels at the lowest uni are like 55)

Anyway, law was 97 or something and with a new school and everything there was no way I could've got it.

Philosophy is really interesting. I'm taking Philosophy and Human Nature this semester and it's worth listening to. Really worth listening to. So much so that I usually download the recordings of the lectures and listen to them again...

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, the educational system in Germany is kind of weird *shrugs* But as long as I get into one of the three universities I want to go to, I'll be happy :D

Phew, that's a lot, yeah.

I love philosophy, absolutely adore it. 's my favourite subject - and the one I'm going to have the oral exam in, too :D
ext_12517: (Default)

[identity profile] adela-nightmoon.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Then it'll be all worth it no?

97's bloody damn high. It's insane. The problem was it's been driven up by so many people wanting to do law.

... You got to do Philosophy in high school? *cries* It's not even a subject at any high school here...

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
It better be :D

That makes sense - the same happens when too many people want to study law in Germany, too, but lately, everyone seems to want to do business, so law is safe for now *nods*

Yeah. Last three years of high school (well, last two for me since I was in Ireland for the first of those three years *nods*) *beams*
... But as far as I know, the final exams I just did are about the same standard as those in American universities just before you have to declare your major. And we start university immediately with one subject only and that is our major, so to speak. 'm a bit fuzzy on the details of the American educational system, but that's what my aunt who lives and studied in the US said *nods*
ext_12517: (Default)

[identity profile] adela-nightmoon.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Business? Hah... poor people.

I have no idea about the American system. Here though we do a course.. say law or arts... and we've 4 subjects we have to do a semester or so. so that's 8 subjects through the whole year.

So in arts first year you can do anything that's connected to arts. Which is a lot. (I'm doing 2 psychology classes, 2 philosophy, 2 politics and 2 classical history).
You start majoring in 2nd year. Majoring requires to do a certain amount from that particular area. So I'm going to major in psych so I have to do 2 psychology units next year. The rest are referred to as electives and you can do almost anything. It's very awesome.
Law, being a far less diverse course, you have to do a few core classes and everything else is electives that are in the law subject.

Wow that was a long explanation. Did that make sense?

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-05-02 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that makes sense *nods* We don't really have those electives, I think. There's certain stuff you have to do and that's always related to the subject you're studying (law, e.g.) and after a while, you can specialise and pick a certain are of the subject you're studying.

And then there's open lectures that you can just attend whenever you want to, which I plan to do with philosophy, but I think law's going to be one hell of a workload in itself already, so... *shrugs*
