Just up to the mountains about three hours drive from here.
Nothing really amazing, but there will be snow (and therefore snowball fights :D) and I'm so excited.
Living down under, there are few places cold enough to get snow, but our slopes got a few centimetres a fortnight before the season stared this year, so it's most exciting!!!
He was in the window (oooh, favorite drugged out bliss of sitting on the windowsill with his big fat butt pressed up against the open window but looking in the house and down at the small minded pathetic folks who reside in the house) when KerBAM! The sky just opened up and hail poured down.
I think he might have broken the sound barrier in his haste to flee for the safety of under-the-bed land
I can picture that all too clearly. They do like those high vantage points they can survey their kingdom from, don't they? And under-the-bed land is the haven of cats.
Do you trim his yourself? I usually take Sid across the street to PetSmart. It takes them about a minute and a half, and he's nervous enough there that he clings to me rather than trying to escape. It's fine as long as nobody decides to stand six inches from my shoulder holding their dachshund. Admittedly, my cat could have eaten the dachshund, but that didn't keep him from climbing me like a tree.
And then there was the couple who brought in their enormous mastiff, and when Sid was trying to claw his way to the top of my head, just said, "Oh, he won't hurt your cat." OK, fine, and he did seem like a very sweet dog, but...I can't exactly explain that to my cat. Moving back about two feet would be very helpful, folks.
oh those people.. Fluffy is the sweetest little fellow, I swear! (said to you as he's trying to gnaw off your tennis shoe)
I cut persnickety pants' nails myself, or hubby does it (theoretically he shares in the 'taking care of the cat' duties). Trying to get the cat in the carrier is far to hazardous to attempt when not completely necessary.
LOL! You know, I think this really was a nice dog. But. His head was right around the height of my behind, and the cat was at the height of my shoulder, and...yeah. Too close.
I love my top-loading cat carrier. I can understand not wanting to put you or him through that, though!
what's worse is those truly dumb dogs- the ones who can't seem to figure out how to pant and sit at the same time.
Getting the cat in the carrier is hard. Getting him out is even harder. I swear he's snuck anti-grav boots in there or something. I've held the bloody carrier upside down and shaken it and he doesn't fall out
Wow, hail. We've been dealing with thunderstorms up here. As someone who hates thunderstorms, I might take your hail. Though it's really the loud noise that bothers me, so perhaps it would not be any better. The Scotties are not fond of them either. Shilling was curled up between my parents in their bed, the other night, just like a sick child sometimes does when they go to their parents' room. Puzzle just looks affronted that anyone would dare to thunderstorm when she is trying to rest.
Oh poor doggies! You probably don't want this weather though. The hail stopped and it was fine weather for about an hour and then massive thunderstorms (with tornado warnings) swept though.
Eww, doesn't sound like weather I'd be pleased about. I have a total irrational fear of thunderstorms. Thankfully, we very rarely have extreme weather where I am. I couldn't imagine dodging tornadoes or something like that. But I suppose it's all what you're used to. My friend on the internet was like 'oh, brb, tornado sirens' and I was all 'why are you not more upset about this?'. And it turns around where some cities in the States just completely shut down at the first sign of snow and I'm always like 'dude, it's just snow. In Canada, we call this "Tuesday"'.
In any case, I wish you and your cat sunny days. :-)
Nice pictures! I think we got hail at about 4am Saturday morning. Started with the little spikey stuff, then just poured and thundered so bad the slate roof was vibrating. Doggies were not happy.
Glad you are okay. Nasty ass weather we've been having. Need donuts and coffee and stay inside.
Wow! That is a lot of hail! And that's a cool picture. I hope you didn't have any damage. (It looks small, so perhaps not?) We've had Hail Damage Centers popping up all over the state this spring because of the storms. My parents are getting a new roof out of it.

In the twin cities themselves it's rare for tornadoes to do anything, we get warnings every so often though. We pretty much ignore them

Hail in May/June is something that we get over here, I though you had more predictable weather over in the US. Obviously not.
