Whoever said "many hand make light work" never went food shopping with pre-teens.

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Or wrote a play for expressive arts class.

Long story.

I know what you mean though! Shopping should be done by one person only, or the time it takes is measured in aisles per week.

oh god- writing a play as a group effort? *facepalm* that would take forever!

I swear my kids were trying to convince me to kill them. Or ship them to Outer Mongolia.

[identity profile] smithy161.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, and the end product wasn't half as good as the ones written by a single person (me, naturally :0p)

A few years ago, I was the annoying kid in supermarkets, so, um, I'll just sit quietly over here...

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Somehow I doubt you were as bas as mine were today. I even threatened to put the donuts back and not buy them if they didn't behave ... so we left the supermarket without donuts! It was criminal!!!!

!

You're already in the God of Doughnuts' bad books!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
*sobs* I know, I know!!!!!

[identity profile] smithy161.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I will eat a doughnut for the sake of your soul.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
oh thank you! Thank you!!!

[identity profile] smithy161.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Repent, sister, repent! *Hands you Church of the Doughnut pamphlets*

(It occurs to me that a better punishment would be buying the doughnuts, then eating them all in front of your kids. Or is that too mean?)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
oooh, I *like* the way you think. I'm keeping that in mind for next time!!! (and I'd get several donuts that way!!!)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
you are very smart. *tips hat*

[identity profile] smithy161.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Sadly not smart enough to answer this homework question. Know anything about circular momentum?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
*yipes* not a thing, sorry.

[identity profile] smithy161.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Me neither. Woe.

Love that icon by the way! Is mythbusters a tv show?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep (http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/mythbusters/mythbusters.html). The idea behind it is a group of people try to prove or disprove myths- like does putting metal in the microwave cause an explosion or if you can destroy a car engine by putting sugar in the gas tank.

[identity profile] mad-jaks.livejournal.com 2008-06-12 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Never seen Mythbusters? You do surprise me - though their basic premises are sometimes a little askew. Remember the Millenium Bridge fiasco? The Tate Gallery link-y one - that swayed in time to people walking across it?? The myth busters had already proved that wasn't possible *G*
They do have a lot of fun with ballistic(s) gel and bullets though :D

[identity profile] smithy161.livejournal.com 2008-06-12 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually saw an episode last night! Well, it was on while I was doing something else. But now I know it's on. And ballistics gel sounds fun!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-12 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
It is! Mythbusters is a great thing to have on in the background

Oh, when I was eleven my class collaborated on a play for the Christmas pageant (which is really showing my age since schools don't have "Christmas" pageants anymore). We did the story of the writing of "Silent Night", and I was the narrator, which meant I had huge chunks of text and was on stage the entire time, but I was also allowed to sit down (fabulous for stage fright) and have notes. I actually have fairly positive memories of it, but then again, that was back when I was eleven. :P
