Whistle While You Work

Title: Whistle While You Work
Pairing/Warning/Rating: Jack/Ianto, many things usually warned for implied or a crack warning, rated R
Word Count: 100
Summary:  Ianto's life took an unexpected turn after quitting Torchwood.
Author's Note: Written for the [community profile] tw100 challenge: Life After Torchwood, but blame for it rests solely on [personal profile] mad_jaks shoulders.  Now with a prequel

Ianto whistled happily as he puttered about, preparing the morning coffee.  This wasn’t the sort of future he’d planned, but after three years he’d grown to love it.

Are you sure you want to do this?  You’ll find leaving Torchwood is easy.  Jack had told him.  It’s leaving me that’s hard.

Ianto hadn’t realized the threat, or the promise, behind those words when he’d handed in his resignation.  But the next day they’d become evident.  He’d woken up with his memories, but without his clothes.  He’d earned a collar since then, and extensions for his chains.  Life couldn’t be better.

I have this whole list of things TW forever altered my perception of. At the top, of course, is the stop watch.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
TW is good at doing that

and omg yes- the stopwatch

Of course, some of the things on the list are actually more fandom related. TW fic is good at that, too.

tw fic can be evil *nods* not that I've contributed to that slippery slope at all, mind you

did you manage a straight face when you typed that?

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
The student becomes the master.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I still have much to learn, though.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I shall do my best to impart upon you all I know

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Should I call you Obi-Wan or Emperor?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
neither. they're a little too dark for me. we're going for subtle here, remember

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
At which point, of course, my mind goes to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Master Splinter. WTH, brain?!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I like your brain. that's completely crackedly wonderful

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a wonder more people don't look at me like I'm nuts.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
you're too clever for that. All your training and teachings have done you well

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I only let the crack be known in select company.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I am proud to consider myself among the select few you allow to see that side of you!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I was going to say something about mutual crack sharing, but it sounded wrong even to me.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I think we could totally run that thing.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Being the engineers on the crazy train sounds much better than saying we're the inmates and we're now running the asylum.

OMG, I want a t-shirt that says "Engineer on the Crazy Train".

Also, I really want to metaquote that. It's so hilariously true.
