Donut Delight

Title: Donut Delight
Pairing/Warning/Rating: NCIS fandom, vague Gibbs/DiNozzo, rated G
Word Count: 200
Summary:  One morning Tony finds a surprise on his desk.
Author's Note:  Written for the [profile] ncisdrabble100 challenge: Heaven and Hell.

Tony rounded the corner and stopped short.  On the middle of his desk sat a jelly donut with a cup of coffee next to it, keeping it company.  He approached it cautiously.  It looked fine, more than fine.  Fried to a perfect golden brown, its sugar coating glittered in the light and just a hint of red filling peeked out the side.

“You gonna eat it or stare at it?”

“Boss?”  Tony tore his gaze from the donut to look at Gibbs.  “This is from you?”

“It’s two years today, DiNozzo.” The tone was brusque, but without any heat behind it.  “Don’t make me regret it.”

Tony wasn’t sure if it was hiring him or the uncharacteristic gesture of buying him a snack that Gibbs was implying he might regret.  Knowing Gibbs it was probably both.  Either way he didn’t care.  Sinking into his chair he picked up the donut and took a bite.  He’d just closed his eyes to revel in its heavenly delight when there was a sharp slap to the back of his head.

“We got a dead marine.  Let’s go.”

Tony grabbed his backpack, the donut and the coffee.  Life couldn’t get any sweeter than this.

Yeah, I wasn't particularly impressed with that.

He deserved at least a donut.

what really bugged me was they made a point of reminding us about the plague and the scarring on his lungs only 5 episodes prior. And then expect us to think he'd have no effect from doing ALL that on a wintry day? Morons

I think most shows need those.

god yes. Or at least someone willing to check pre-existing canon

I mean, they couldn't keep track of Gibbs' wives or his rules? I'll allow the fact that in an early episode Tony doesn't know anything about older movies because the characters weren't that well established yet, but come on, how hard is it to make up a list of the ex-wives names and keep it somewhere to refer back to?

You'd think they'd want to keep track of something important like that.

or at least the actors would remember. But I guess not

or maybe they just like driving the fans nuts

I really think they like driving us nuts, sometimes.

maybe it's a test- how many irate emails can we get this week?

if they weren't so good at suckering us in by writing characters we cared about so much i'd call them completely evil

We can still call them bastards.

I figured.
