Title: A Mountie, a Wolf, and a Dead Man

Summary: Diefenbaker and Fraser wait for Jack to wake up
Author's Note:  Due South/Torchwood crossover.  Written for travels_in_time

The wolf whined softly, pawing the dead man.

“Don’t worry Diefenbaker, Jack will be alright.”  Fraser sat down next to his two friends, one furry and the other growing cold.   “Eventually.”

Dief only huffed in response.

Fraser absentmindedly petted the wolf, trying to comfort him before brushing a lock of hair off Jack’s forehead.   Blue eyes shot open, blinking rapidly.

“Benton?”  Jack asked, weakly.

“Right here, Jack.” Fraser helped his friend into a sitting position while Diefenbaker barked enthusiastically.

“Remind me not to do that again.”  Jack shifted, losing his balance and falling into Fraser’s arms, where he happily stayed.

I don't think Fraser's as oblivious as he pretends, or he couldn't be the skilled detective he is. He might ignore the flirting, but I don't think a Fraser/Jack relationship could last long, sadly, because Fraser strikes me as the sort who'd expect fidelity from a partner and I'm not convinced Jack's capable of that...Doesn't mean stories about it wouldn't be interesting, mind :-)

honestly, I have NO CLUE. I've been horribly inept at writing lately (leaning towards the 'smash evil computer with sledgehammer' frame of mind) so forced some drabbles with specific prompts out. With that as a limitation I managed what got posted today.
