Title: Failed Tactics
Pairing/Warning/Rating: Doctor Who fandom, no spoilers, rated G
Word Count: 100
Summary: The Brigadier knows all of Jack's tricks.
Sergeant Benton knocked forcefully before entering.
"Yes, yes." The Brigadier returned Benton's salute. "What is it?"
"A situation has come up, sir."
"What sort of situation?" the Brigadier asked carefully.
"It's Captain Harkness."
"What's the man done this time?"
Benton stiffened, avoiding the Brigadier's eyes before blandly stating, "He's dead, sir."
"Oh, is that all?" The relief was evident in his eyes. "I was concerned he was flirting with an ambassador again."
"But..."
"Just prop him in a chair in the back, he knows better than to think he can avoid this meeting that easily."

because it's *so* Benton, I can totally see him reporting that way.
And the Brig complaining about Jack flirting with ambassadors, trying to miss a meeting... perfect. ::bookmarks::
(And it's an unexpected treat to see you here!)

(I'm sneaking on, not really supposed to be here but sanity insisted!)

You'd think so. I imagine jurisdiction was sometimes an interesting discussion!
I can see the Brig thinking of Jack as a stone in his shoe a lot of the time - but a quite useful stone, so maybe he eventually gave him some grudging respect.
