Playing Around

Title: Playing Around
Pairing/Warning/Rating: Torchwood/X-Files crossover, no spoilers, rated G
Word Count: 100
Summary: Jack has some fun with a certain FBI agent.
Author's Note: Written for [community profile] tw100's crossover challenge

“What are you doing?”  Tosh watched as Jack spread a photo of Janet out on the table.

“Just having some fun,” Jack answered, grabbing the ancient Polaroid camera that he’d unearthed from the archives earlier and took a picture of the picture.  Seeing her look he shrugged.   “Wasn’t grainy enough.”

“But....”

“Now, it’s perfect.”  He slipped the photo in an envelope that bore a faded label, then scribbled on a return address, and smeared it.

“Who?”  Tosh read the label.  “The FBI?  Jack!”

“The truth is out there, but if it’s too easy to find he won’t believe.”  Jack grinned.

Daleks. Daleks would be out, I'd think. Ditto Cybermen and Cyberwomen. Especially Cyberwomen.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-08-03 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
even rocking dalek?? :(

for being scantily clad cyberwomen are still not Jack's cup of tea

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-08-03 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe rocking dalek? But definitely no cyberwomen. Being scantily clad does not help, no.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-08-03 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
although other scantily clad women might do better

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-08-03 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe!

Randomly, because it just popped into my head, what do you think would happen if a wraith got hold of Jack?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-08-03 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
I've wondered about that. Jack does die, so I assume he would, but I can't decide if he'd age, die, and then regenerate/deage and come back to life or just be an endless battery of food supply. I lean towards the former though.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-08-03 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
It's a biochemical thing, right? I mean, OK, Stargate science, pfft, but that's how they explain it. So I think that favors the die-repeatedly hypothesis. Either way, BAD NEWS for Jack.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-08-03 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
yes- you're right, so it does lead more towards the old age shell that suddenly comes back to life at 40ish and then could be drained again and again, if the wraith noticed that is- often they eat and run

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-08-03 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, if they're in the mood for fast food, he's probably OK. *g*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-08-03 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Or if enough People-With-Guns are around to scare them off.

Why the question? Do you have thinky hat on?

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-08-03 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Right! And no particular reason; it just occurred to me, and I thought you might've thought about it, since you've sent Jack to Pegasus before. I wish I had the thinky hat on.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-08-03 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
someone (you probably) had once asked me if John and Jack had ever compared having the life sucked out of them and then coming back and I had little niggles about it in the back of my mind as a result.

No thinky hat? *pouts* sorry. Need to play toss the crazy plot hat around?

I think I need to re-watch canon. The question is, canon for WHAT? I was sort of missing early SGA yesterday. B5's always good for a re-watch. I need to re-watch this last season of TW and DW. Maybe Jekyll again. I don't know. I'm not feeling the fannish love right now except for various AUs.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-08-03 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
AUs are good too! Sometimes canon can lead to trouble. Like DW- there's so much of it and it's contradictory. NCIS's characterization of Tony depends on the episode, not the season. And Sheppard and McKay's interaction really changes through time.

I have my own versions of canon in my head- close to truthful (I hope anyway) but using the aspects I can work with. Like I ignore Ten's brusque dismissal of Jack. I don't like it when the Doctor's mean.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-08-03 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
AUs are good. And yeah, I think we all have stuff we ignore, or can ignore for the length of a story.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-08-03 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
I keep thinking of trying a "realistic" au (teddy bears don't count) but then they "AUGGGHHH HARDDDDD" thoughts come out and I run away scared.

Although I suppose all my crossovers are AU. I doubt Sheppard and Winnie-the-Pooh would really have such a calm meeting

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-08-03 12:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I love a good plotty AU. And yep, I'd say "Pashahads" is AU.

And I don't know--after everything else they've seen in Pegasus, talking teddy bears? Not too big a deal. Only Pegasus teddy bears probably try to kill you in some way--everything else does!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-08-03 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
one of those "aww it's so cute" creatures and then the fangs and three sets of claws come out and there is much running towards the gate? probably

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-08-03 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly! Heh--they get home and there are all these deep scratches on the puddlejumper door, and John tells everybody the thing was three times the size that it actually was.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-08-03 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
and it wasn't fuzzy, no it had massive fur that stuck out in all directions- probably almost armor like or something

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-08-03 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Right! And there were...five of them! Yeah!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-08-03 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
And Teyla would give him one of "those" looks, because everyone in the Pegasus Galaxy really knows what those creatures are and that anyone with a lick of sense would have avoided the confrontation and at least he managed not to concuss himself this time so she'll put it in the "sigh yet win" column.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-08-03 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! Bwah--and that's a perfect description: "sigh yet win" column. There are a lot of things on that list, I'd think.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-08-03 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
something like 90% of SGA's adventures qualify as that. Yeah, we won, but....
