friends 'r' us meme
stolen from a bunch of people....
COMMENT HERE AND I WILL:
a) Tell you why I friended you.
b) Associate you with something -- a fandom, song, color, photo, etc.
c) Tell you something I like about you.
d) Tell you a memory I have of you.
e) Ask you something I've wanted to know about you
f) Tell you my favorite userpic from your list
g) In return, you need to post this on your own
As a side note, I should probably admit right off that my answer to 'why I friended you' will be the same to everyone- I never friend anyone until they've friended me. I'm far too shy (yes, really) to randomly friend people.

I love crossovers so I'll always give them a read even if I'm not terribly familiar with one or more of the fandoms; that in turn can lead to me wanting to read more in a non-familiar fandom as I start to get a feel for the characters, and also getting familiar with the parent material. It happened with Dresden Files, Firefly (bought the DVDs for both series), SGA (now have all the eps to watch) and it's in the process of happening for NCIS. I am a TV addict who doesn't actually watch much TV!
As for being a nurse I've wanted to be one since I was about 5 or 6. Prior to that I wanted to be a vet, until I found out that vets had to put down dogs. Nursing is a job that gives you the full gamut of emotions, often all in the same week; it's both uplifting and soul destroying and I don't think I could do anything else. I love the job, I just don't like the politics that often goes with it. I'm never going to be a great mover and shaker, but I. I don't always get on so well with relatives however...

You must get a lot of satisfaction from helping so many people though, that's got to be great
