My cat just meowered in his sleep, jolted himself awake and proceeded to fall off the chair he was sleeping on.

I should feel bad for laughing at him.

Really I should.

and laugh even harder when they act all affronted

Of course, then you also have to run, at times.

Yes. Sharp, painful reprisal.

unfortunately they'll always be able to find your shoes for hairball placement

Even if you put them in the closet.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-04 03:12 pm (UTC)(link)
damn good thing they're so cute and purry

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-10-04 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Or they'd never get fed.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-04 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
unless they figured out the can opener

Then I'd be looking for the most remote piece of earth to hide on.

or stock up on the tuna and whatnot so you have LOTS of things to bribe them with

Get on the good side of our likely new masters.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-04 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
exactly what I was thinking. Donut lures and tuna bribes will take us far

We know how to rule, but we also know how to suck-up.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-04 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
sucking up is equally important

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-10-05 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
and, with cats, knowing how to skirtch that spot just behind the ear and the other one under the chin, is equally important

Definitely. This knowledge has prevented many a bite from the rather surly cat at the local bookstore.

I love bookstore cats! Cats+books=the best thing! They go together so well!

It's the best combination ever, in my mind. This particular bookstore has a few kittens, too. They're so adorable and ridiculously unhelpful. It's my favorite bookstore in the area.
