oh crap

Election crap isn't over the MN - the senate race is too close to call:
1,210,790
42%
1,210,028
42%
437,146
15%

with 99% of precincts reporting. That means there will be a recount and a serious look at the absentee ballots and....

*VERY BIG SIGH*

eta- As of 6pm the race is 121644 for Coleman and 112167 for Franken so the margin is 477 votes!!!

She asked if I wanted some the other day. I responded by gagging.

if there was nothing else available, I'd eat one, but otherwise? No thanks

They're just so dry and unappetizing.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-09 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think they are supposed to be, if done right, but I've never had them done right!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-09 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I think they're supposed to be more moist and biscuit-like. My mom baked homemade scones a long time ago, and I seem to recall I wouldn't quite believe they were scones.

one of these days I'll have real ones. The only ones I've ever tried resemble rocks in texture and taste

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-09 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
I want to go try and bake some, now. I don't think I have all the necessary ingredients, sadly.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-09 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
they fall under the "eh, I could try to make them but OOOH cookies' category

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-09 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
because there is nothing worse then going through all the effort of baking and not being impressed with the results. Cookies, on the other hand, are YUMMY

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-09 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. And you can test the dough throughout the cooking process.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-09 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
If not skip the cooking process altogether

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
I know were not supposed to eat cookie dough, because OMG salmonella is SO bad for you and whatnot, but WHO CARES!!!!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
I figure they have medicine for that, and it's totally worth the risk.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
seriously. They're missing out on one of the best things in the world!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Second only to licking the bowl after pouring chocolate cake batter into the pan.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
oh yes- licking bowl and spatula and spoon is very important.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
I'm always a little appalled when I see someone put them in the sink and rinse them with tons of dough still clinging to the sides

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Same here. I mean, what a waste.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Ok, now I really want to go make more cookies.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-10 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
I got some of that pre-made dough on sale, so I can make a few, put the rest back in the fridge, and no one is the wiser.
