That's an interesting comm. Um, well, I say WiPs, but "progress" may be overstating a bit.

I signed up. with an impossible word count. I am officially crazy.

Sometimes opening WiPs is progress enough. It makes them still active and come alive again in your head, even if its only rereading it

I did 77k last year and was going to sign up for 80 but then went nuts and said 100. INSANE I TELL YOU. INSANE.

Oh, you can do that! *nods* In what, a year? *does math* 8000-and-a-bit words a month. ...OK, that's kind of a lot. But dude, so is 77,000, so it's very possible. Especially with the potential for a couple of really long fics. (The SPN crossover and tardis_bigbang.)

If I don't manage a big bang I am screwed though. I can knock off ficlets like nobody's business, but 100k is a LOT of ficlets!

maybe. I think there's one more opportunity to change your word count before you're set in for the year. I'll lower it because reaching 80 or even 85 seems doable but 100 seems INSANE.

I don't know what happened to my ability to come up with long stuff. I had Pants!verse and my first miss maggie and all those OldMan stories my first year of writing (well half year- 2007) and then- other than big bang- had very very few things over 3k, let alone 4 or 5. not sure why.

I feel like I've used all my ideas up, sort of. I need new canon or a new fandom or something.

That helps. I've NCIS and now SPN to play in. Heck, I clanked out that 4k Dean as a dog fic in a day and a half right after I started in that fandom.

I poked around recently, looking up prompt/challenge communities and nothing looked helpful.

New canon could help- or old canon you haven't seen before. Is there any DW's you've missed?

I haven't seen much Seven at all, and he's supposed to be devious enough that it might kick my brain into gear again. *ponders*

Um, all but Trial of a Time Lord. Long serial is long. But the Valeyard's in it, too, so I should watch it someday.

I've seen one of them. Well, two if you count The Three Doctors. Two is so adorable.

I haven't seen enough Two. And the evil BBC hasn't helped matters there. Have you seen "the Invasion" (the first official UNIT episode) That one's on dvd with 'restored' episodes (done in cartoon)

Yes! There's, like, an evil computer in it?
