Torchwood 3x02 question (and a bit of reaction)

For a brief second, at about the 15 minute mark, the Torchwood information is brought up on the screen by Lois Abeeba (the inquisitive newbie/temp in Frobisher's office) and it says "although Torchwood 2 in Glasgow is thought to have disbanded and Torchwood 1 in London is now defunct following the Battle of Canary Wharf..."

So... poor 'very strange man in Glasgow' is no more? (And no mention of TW 4, btw, I guess it really is lost.)

And.... EWWWWWWW gross. Just ew. Although it does imply the Face of Boe thing is a load of crap.

And.. why are some kids in school and some not? I'd very much like this to make a little more sense please.

I still don't understand why this kid-speaking thing lead to the kill order on Torchwood. Or why there is yet ANOTHER supersekkrit UK alien/terrorist hunting organization. Or where UNIT is.

And... there was a story about Jack being sealed up in concrete. It gave me nightmares. Thanks, TW, I really needed to revisit that.

I did laugh when, in the previews, Jack is in his WWII coat again. Good to know it never goes out of style. And survives bombs and fire and everything else.

I hope Myfanwy is okay. :(

I think my brain just fled back to the gutter.

seriously, don't go looking for it.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-07-10 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I won't. I have enough nightmares as it is.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-07-10 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
do the writers even stop to consider what they've put Jack through?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
buried for 2 thousand years, encased in concrete... no I don't think they do

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
I somehow don't think a person would remain sane after all that.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
I'm beginning to think that's just part of the job description.

*snickers* you might be onto something

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
It's becoming an increasingly prevalent trait in TV writers.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
bloody annoying trend if you ask me

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
tv is to entertain us. not depress us

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
I agree so much with this, which is why I can't ever figure out why the most depressing shows seem to be the most popular.

LMAO, I love that spelling error so much.

I KNOW! I get enough angst and depressing crap in life, I don't need it on my screen too!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
If I REALLY want to go watch something depressing, I'll find a good movie.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
there are certainly enough of those to choose from!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yep. Books too. I don't need it shoved down my throat every week on tv too

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
although, in general, I can't stand sitcoms. They're too dumb for me.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Nor can I. I'm pretty sure the only one I ever liked was Home Improvement.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I watched that a bit. current ones-wise I've occassionally caught some of "big bang theory" and "2 and a half men" they aren't bad, but not great either

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-07-12 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
I don't really ever watch TV on TV, anymore, so I pretty much don't see any of the new ones.
