A Pair of Jacks, reposted

After much deliberation I am reposting the drabble that caused all the ruckus, unaltered (except for punctuation corrections, thanks [personal profile] unfeathered); I'm even including the original author's note.   I'm the first to admit the premise is a bit cracked, even for me, but after the Doctor's line in Utopia, I didn't think that it was too out there.  I understand that it's not something everyone will be comfortable with, but I guess I hadn't quite expected how vehement the opposition to it might be.  I am not going to disable comments, but request that no one send me emails or make comments about the questionable nature of my choice of subject matter, my morals or the state of my soul.

I appreciate the comments and emails of support I received from my LJ friends as a result chaos, you guys are truly amazing.  The funny thing about all this is, that after rereading it so many times I still don't mind the premise, but feel that it's a tad clunky and just doesn't flow the way a drabble should.

Title:  A Pair of Jacks

Pairing/Warning/Rating: Jack/Jack, none, rated PG
Word Count: 100
Summary: Owen presses the wrong button...
Author's Note: My apologies and an extreme crack!fic and 'no liquids allowed while reading' warning

Owen stared wide-eyed at the sight in front of him.

“Owen...”  the Jacks called out in unison.  “What did you do?”

Jacks.  There were two Jacks.   “I....”  The machine he’d been monkeying with slipped out of his hands.

“Careful!”  they screamed, grabbing it before it could hit the floor.

“I....”

“A Thoracxian splitting laser?”  one Jack said.  “It’ll be four hours before it recharges.”

“At least the recombining feature’s intact,”  the other pointed out.

Shock finally caught up with Owen’s brain and he fainted.

“Hmmm... four hours to kill.  Shall we?” the Jacks suggested as they quietly slipped down to their quarters.

the ending- how presumedly Jack's gone off to have sex with himself.

Apparently I'm going to hell for suggesting it. And it wont be a pleasant trip.

More pleasant since there are quite a few of us already on the bus. :) And we share our snacks.

I'm with [livejournal.com profile] rustydog - the company will be kind of fabulous.

I thought it was a cute litte crack!drabble. I'm sorry you appear to have been targeted by the whatever the Moral Majority are self-identifying as these days.

Think of it this way: If those are the type of people going up and we're all going to hell, then hell is going to be one big party because we won't have all those types of nasty people there. :) People always get really frustrated when I use that argument against them. :D

Anyways, I'm glad you re-posted it. There's nothing wrong with it because it's a sweet and amusing drabble that falls exactly in-line with something Jack would do in that situation. Love you hon!

So masturbation's right out in their world, huh?

WTF. Freaks.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I've blocked the emails now, so I can't say for certain, but probably. This is *torchwood* how their brain's didn't explode by what was on the screen amazes me

I am so freaking tempted to write graphic TW/DW Jack porn, but you know. I'm a brat.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I seriously hope they don't latch onto you though. Maybe you shouldn't try to draw them out

[identity profile] fandom-me.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, dude. I don't mean to sound snotty, but I've been blessed by a really great run in Torchwood running just about a year at this point. That's a lot of time to get confident. At this point I'm pretty sure I'm a dragon - as in fire breathing and flame proof.

*g* dragons are good!

[identity profile] fandom-me.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
No, but trying to keep who's who straight (er. Clear) might sneak up on me in my sleep and suffocate me.

First person? *g*

You too, huh? I've vaguely wanted to do Jack/Jack since Utopia aired, but was never really inspired. And then you had the two of them meeting, which gave it a little boost in my brain, and now this...

Does your plot bunny end with forced retconning?

There is talk (*points down thread*) of a Jack/Jack fic fest. It would be interesting to see different takes on that theme.

[identity profile] fandom-me.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
It really would. (And randomly, feel free to write it if you're inclined. My brain's still porridge.)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
nothing wrong with porridge!

[identity profile] smithy161.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Brain porridge is good with jam.
Not sure if I'll write it or not, but thank you.

ROFLMAO. Rhubarb.

(I'm not sure you're nutty enough to think you need my permission, but. Um. Doesn't hurt to say?)

[identity profile] smithy161.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I was going to say something like 'if I thought I was stealing your idea, I'd have asked already' but it sounded a bit snooty. I think we're both on the same 'ideas don't belong to anyone' wavelength!

And raspberry is best.
