Watch, laugh, love

A Doctor Who video set to the Muppets' song "Moving Right Along" encompassing all the Doctors (through 2008 when it was made) and the majority of their companions giving a humorous look to the Doctor's poor navigation skills.

Watch it, you'll love it, I guarantee it.

Is Turlough in there? But yeah, it's impressive! Also hilarious in a "the more things change..." kind of way.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Turlough is briefly seen two times. Once when Five is running to the TARDIS from some robed people (other Time Lords, maybe?) and in a TARDIS smoking and shaking people back and forth scene.

Me thinks getting into hot water and running from things is a bit of trend in DW

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2010-08-01 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! I'm distracted by context in the running-away-from-Time-Lords scene. He's running away because--have you seen The Five Doctors?

It really is a trend!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Remember it, no, seen it, yes. There's also a scene with Two and the Brig from it in the vid I think.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
It really made me want to go watch tons of Old Who and reminisce

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2010-08-01 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Definitely! I need to watch more Seven.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
I've never seen Seven and Mel at ALL (or Six and Mel for that matter. Or Six other than in "The Two Doctors")

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2010-08-01 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't seen much Six at all. Just "The Two Doctors," and, unsurprisingly, "The Mark of the Rani." *g* (Predictable? Me?)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
I LOVE that icon!

I need to watch the Rani sometime. (so many things on that list of must watch/read/listen to)

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2010-08-01 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I love their expressions there.

Well, "Mark of the Rani" is mostly entertaining for her opinion of the Doctor and the Master.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
I really think it's interesting to see how the different Doctors relate to the different Masters, all those actors, directors and writers and (in old Who anyway) there's still a kernel of similarity there.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2010-08-01 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yes! Very much so. And I'd say Ten and Simm!Master have their similarities, too.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
Some, but not as many and there's a different.... sense between the two men

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2010-08-01 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
It'll be interesting to see if we get a version for Eleven, and how they react to each other.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
YES.

(I want canon Eleven/Jack more than I want Eleven?Master though)

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
I want canon Eleven/Jack

YES PLEASE

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2010-08-01 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! Didn't see this! Yes, even *I* want canon Eleven/Jack more than Eleven/Master.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Wowsa, that is something!

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
I watched that in May, screencapped it, and had a picspam/reaction post half ready when I got busy. Must dig that up. I agree about the Rani's opinion of The Boys! Also... well, I won't spoil it for Donut. But OMGRUSTYSQUEE.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2010-08-01 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh, I'll look forward to that!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
the library doesn't have Mark of the Rani, but Netflix does so I'll make sure I get to it soonish!

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
Is that the one where he's been made President and he's escaping? Wait, that was Four, wasn't it? Hmm. I know I saw The Five Doctors, but the plot was so not the point for me. Heh.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
the plot was so not the point for me

bwhaha, me either!

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2010-08-01 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
That was the one! But yes, Four was President too, briefly.

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
I remember Four being President because he came back to Gallifrey in, oh, what was it called, Invasion of the Time Lords? Dangit, all those titles are the same! It was Leela's last episode. Anyway, he came back and claimed his Presidency (and his sash and helmet and, ahem, staff) so he could do some really tricksy stuff and foil the dastardly deeds of the current threat.

But I do remember Five running from the responsibility. It's funny how nobody who enjoys life wants to be the President of Gallifrey! I just listened to a Doctor Who Unbound audio where the First Doctor was trying to weasel out of it, too.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2010-08-01 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
Wikipedia says it's "The Invasion of Time." But yeah, all those titles run together!

The First Doctor got offered it, too? I didn't know that!

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Ah yes, the Invasion of Time, that's it! Ha, I was closer than I thought.

With the First Doctor, it's hazy because it depends on how much you accept the canonicity of the audios, and then even within the story itself, there's some weird perceptual stuff going on. His uncle (who was younger than him because of a regeneration, heh) was encouraging him to accept the Presidency, but by the end I'm not even sure it happened. But Susan may have been the President. It's so confusing. There was, however, a talking elephant. So it's all good.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
There was, however, a talking elephant. So it's all good.

I laughed so loudly at this I woke the cats

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Whoops, I apologize to the kitties!

As Classic Who fans, we have lots of practice focusing on the good parts and letting the rest slide, don't we? *g*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Absolutely!

Kato, who had just gone to sleep after eating as he lamented his most recent lost toy (if he eats the fly he can't play with it anymore unfortunately) has decided to take getting woken up in stride and check out the ol' food bowl again. Never know what might have shown up in it in the last 3 minutes

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, the life of a cat! So simple. New wonders all the time.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
and comfy window sills to sleep in

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2010-08-01 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Bwahahaha. The talking elephant makes EVERYTHING better.

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
I know, right? Even better, it was one of Hannibal's elephants. And it was a captain in his army.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2010-08-01 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
Of. Course. It. Was. The audios always sound like the best kind of crack!

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2010-08-01 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, the audios have some primo crack. They're only restricted by the medium of sound and the listener's imagination! They also have some quality drama, but it's nice that there's a mix. :)

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2010-08-01 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
I even have some of them, I just haven't listened. I should remedy that!
