Stupid brain

Yes, it is very important to spend two hours researching the difference between a geological survey and a geographic survey so I can use the right term when Jack dismisses the data presented to him via the report in a brief sentence.

And no, I'm not wasting time on the minutia because it puts off figuring out the specifics behind the evil alien, or how Jack is going to solve things and what's going to happen next- that's just a bonus.

Anyone have a brain that is functioning?  Mine appears to be stuck on spin cycle.

Yes.

I'm watching TW DVD extras for "Captain Jack Harkness". Yay!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't had time to watch my TW DVDs yet. stupid bigbang taking up all my free time!

They're fun. I could do without the menu music, however.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
the menus for all the DW's is annoying, doesn't surprise me TW's is too.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
I could do without hearing the TW theme-song for awhile.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
why do they make the loading of dvds and the menus so annoying?

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. To make you click on the content faster?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
lol- you maybe onto something there

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
LMAO...GDL drools in "End Of Days" and John makes sure to point this out in the commentary.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
seriously? I can't wait to listen to the commentary

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
Yep. John said Gareth begged him not to point that out, the bastard. I can't wait to watch the rest of the commentary.

*snort* as much as I adore the man I bet JB can be a real bear to work with sometimes!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed. He's now fanboying over Naoko in the hazmat suit.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
*snort* He just called Billis "the evil gay".

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
if the shoe fits....

I wonder if they plan on bringing Billis back in S2 or S3, he was a great bad guy

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know about in the show, but he's mentioned in the synopsis of one of the new books.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
I've been less than thrilled with the books. :(

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
Same here, but they kept me occupied for at least part of Christmas break.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
I find fanfic more interesting, for the most part.

anyway- it's past midnight here, and I have work tomorrow *oh joy* so I better go

Night!

Oh man, annoying DVD menus. When I watch on my computer I load DVDs sans menus because I got sick of them...especially the ones with animation you can't skip that plays every time.

And hey, when I play them with no menu at all there's the fun adventure of "Which title has the content? Who put the actual episode THERE?" :p.

I think my brain's stuck on spin cycle too. That or it's wandered off again!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-02-26 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
that's smart- playing it without the menus. I'll have to think about figuring out how to do that!

[identity profile] pointytilly.livejournal.com 2008-02-27 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
In VLC Media Player, it's File - Open Disc, then select plain "DVD" instead of "DVD (with menus)". It'll play straight up from the start, and to get to other bits you can muck about with the titles/chapters in the video menu, treasure hunt style. Fun :D.

(Disclaimer: I am a bit peculiar, so my idea of fun might be a bit off.)
