I think I've sworn to give up writing completely twice, but each time I've backed down and kept going. There are fandoms I don't write in any more because I know I'll never get into the top tier of writers there and nobody needs more second-rate fanfics.

I'll probably never write for House for that reason. I had one idea, wrote it, but don't have the medical knowledge to write anything more. And without it there's no point, because there are 80 million others like that out there.
