The Furry Doorstop

Title: The Furry Doorstop
Pairing/Rating/Warning: Jack/Fraser, rated G
Word Count: 100
Summary: Ray is confused when he finds Diefenbaker acting as a doorstop at Fraser's apartment.
Author's Note:  Due South/Torchwood crossover.  Written for [personal profile] travels_in_time

Ray walked down the hall to Fraser’s apartment, rapping on the door before pushing it open, like always.  But this time it only opened an inch.  He peered through the crack at the furry doorstop.

“Deif?  What’ca doing?  Hey Benny, let me in!”

Blushing, and decidedly rumpled, Fraser finally opened the door.

A stranger grabbed Ray’s hand and shook it firmly.  “You must be Ray,” the man said, smiling.  “Benton’s told me all about you.  Sorry, gotta go.  I’m running late.  We lost track of time, errr, catching up.  Later, Benton!”

Then he left, questions and confusion swirling behind him.

Catching up, huh? Is that what they're calling it these days? *g*

I quite like [livejournal.com profile] travels_in_time's powers of persuasion, when it gets us lots of Jack/Fraser from you!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
well... I left it up to the reader to decide exactly what 'catching up' entailed....

[livejournal.com profile] travels_in_time=evil!!! I want this pairing OUT OF MY HEAD. I have other things I'm supposed to be writing!!! (poor Old Man part four is never going to happen if things keep up this way...)

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2007-11-02 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
I shouldn't laugh at your pain, but uh...I totally am. But at least I'm not coming up with bizarre crossovers for you to write, right? That should count for something!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, come on, suggest something, you know you want to.... (no guarantees though... absolutely not)

I s'pose I should use my powers of persuasion for good and not evil, but I'm not seeing how anything but good could come from more Jack/Fraser. :D

And I'm behind on Old Man anyway; you should wait a while, let me catch up!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
Lol, well, that's my excuse then for not getting a new part posted!

[identity profile] travels-in-time.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
\o/ Hee! "Catching up", huh, Jack?

Yay for Dief, guarding the door! But having tried so hard to get into Ray's head for that fic, now I kinda feel sorry for him, being left out and all. :(

questions and confusion swirling behind him.

If this isn't Jack all over...

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2007-11-02 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
That's Vecchio. ;) (The original Vecchio, I mean.)

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2007-11-02 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Well, knock-and-walk-in is more of a Vecchio thing. Oh, wait! It has to be Vecchio, because...uhm, how to put this so it's not spoilery...Fraser's living somewhere else during RayK's time.

You think it is RayV and not RayK in this fic? Why?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you did say you liked G/PG best... so they're just 'catching up' and leaving it up to the reader to decide exactly what that entailed...

I will NOT write more of DS/TW where Ray meets Jack properly, you hear me? And I definitely will not do a Bob Fraser/Jack fic. No way. Will not happen.

[identity profile] travels-in-time.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, just 'cause I'm more comfortable reading PG (and DEFINITELY more comfortable writing it) doesn't mean you have to limit yourself. I'll read Jack/Fraser any way I can get it!

Bob/Jack? *shudder* Brain bleach, aisle four! In my personal canon, Jack can see Bob, but Bob doesn't like Jack too much. He thinks Jack's disrespecting the dead, zooming in and out of the afterlife all the time. And probably leaving the door open and tracking mud in, too.

But there again, don't limit yourself to what I think!

I will NOT write more of DS/TW where Ray meets Jack properly, you hear me?

I don't have donuts to offer. What would tempt you?

Whee, it's a great day for animal fic! Good old Deif. I want to hug him. (But I'll wait for Jack to put his clothes back on before I do. Oh, I guess I've figured out my interpretation of "catching up.")

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Dief certainly helps his friends out, doesn't he? Lol, it's not hard to interpret "catching up" that way, is it?

[identity profile] mad-jaks.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 02:00 pm (UTC)(link)
heehee I love these Due South crossovers - I haven't watched it in years but Benton and Jack just *fit* together so well :)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Glad you like, I honestly haven't watched that many recently, but I thought they just clicked together also, it's their 'old school' gentlemanly nature or something...

[identity profile] lurker1860.livejournal.com 2007-11-11 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
Catching up... must remember that *g*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-11 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"catching up" is a good term for it, right? :)

[identity profile] adafrog.livejournal.com 2007-11-16 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
Love this so much.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2007-11-16 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I've written quite a number of Due South/TW crossovers find them here (http://donutsweeper.livejournal.com/tag/due+south)

Hehe ... Poor Ray, he probably didn't see that one coming.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-12 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
No, not at all. Poor Ray! :)

[identity profile] karaokegal.livejournal.com 2010-04-29 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
AWE-SOME!!! I know I'm reading these out of the order you wrote them, but I do love this pairing as I'm getting it. (I know you didn't specify which Ray, but to me it's Ray V and that was quite a conversation they had afterwards.)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2010-04-29 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
I think I wrote them out of order anyway, so it probably doesn't matter much. This was supposed to be RayV *hee* and I'm sure he and Benton had a LOT to talk about afterwards!
